You can post below! Sappho was an ancient Greek poet, whose poetry was sung for generations. Her poems were only found (in 1898 and 1914) on torn up pieces of papyrus used for coffins & stuffed in a mummified crocodile. Each poem you read, therefore, is a fragment of the original. Much of reading Sappho is gleaning what lies between these words. From the author, Anne Carson: “Brackets are exciting.
