The official language act was an official law made by Canada, so it was a law placed and made in Canada. This law represented how Canada and French would be both of the official languages of Canada, so Canada became a "bilingual country" . It became a bilingual country on September 9th, 1969. Now, there would probably be less conflict about french and english equality. Before, there was many conflicts, so Canada solved the conflict and made mainly peace because of this law. This excited most french, and english as well. It was one of the biggest so called, "cornerstones" of the Canadian government, where Pierre Trudeau was Prime-minister. New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec were really involved in this new law because firstly, Ontario is the biggest french speaking minority. Secondly, New Brunswick is the second largest french speaking minority, and Manitoba is third, and Quebec, is a HOME to french minority speaking, so it is further than the ranks. In conclusion, The Official Languages Act was an important part of Canada and their history, especially their bilingual history, so it is important to everyone in Canada.
-Sofia
