This proverb means that even people who have a disadvantage could make a great difference on the world if they are willing to fight for their justice. Disadvantages can be due to race, religion, disability, sex, nationality, etc... When the proverb states "you haven't spent a night with a mosquito," it is explaining that something as little as a mosquito can have a great impact on society. For example, Helen Keller was blind, deaf, and mute ever since she was a child. This disadvantage forced her to work harder than anyone else to be able to function and communicate. In the end, Helen was able to communicate to others using braille. This amazing story symbolizes the strength that Helen had, to be able to change the world.
