I agree that this is a form of prayer because, although the farmer is not actually able to see God on Earth in concrete human form, he is able to see the spirit of God. The farmer has created his own image of God that he uses when he looks at God and God looks at him. The farmer has related God to his own life, where he has found the beauty of God in daily experiences, and is therefore able to have a reflective experience in being with God and feeling his love and compassion through this mutual watching.
#believewithoutseeing

This is an experience of Imago Dei, as the farmer relates God to his own experiences to better understand Him. Obviously, the farmer does not know what God looks like or if one can see God at all, but he has created his own idea of God to help him contemplate during prayer all of God's love, compassion, virtue, forgiveness, etc. God could be like a father to the farmer, a friend, or anyone that he feels God's presence in. Through his creation of this image, the farmer grows closer in his relationship with God and, as a result, others.
#Godinothers

I've been able to compare Fr Boyle's stories of his image of God with St. John Vianney's image, as they have explained Imago Dei in two very different contexts. While Fr Boyle explains his experiences with others as his feeling of God, St. Vianney describes a man searching for God's presence during prayer. I have also realized the importance of quiet reflection and how it is a form of prayer. We are able to connect with God during this time and better understand our relationship with Him.
#respectsilence
