I used to have Norton and McAfee but they are subscription and there are no free versions unless you do their trial. AVG Free is probably the most decent protection you could get and the software does not hog up a ton of resources like Norton and other popular paid antivirus subscriptions. Somehow there was either a virus or malware on my PC and a hacker or malicious program hacked in my ebay account and began posting merchandise I did not have to be sold. I luckily was able to figure it out and canceled the listings, and changed my passwords. I had to reformat my PC to be safe and reinstall everything else. Ever since then, I'm very caution on what I do online. Once a week, the program runs a update service so it can download new virus remedies.
