Loved the opportunity to give feedback and hear feedback from others! Thank you for creating a space for us to engage! I wonder how we can create opportunities for staff who are not in leadership positions who may feel less connected to the strategic plan.

Your team did a great job kicking off the meeting. I was excited to feel the energy around what this event could be. I will work on the brainstorming for next meeting, particularly around event locations.

Summer Symposium

I appreciate how organized these meetings are, including the helpful summary and notes shared after the meeting. Since professional development is also an agency-wide SEE goal, I'm curious if we can gather more data about the types of professional development opportunities staff are looking for and see if there are common threads across offices. For example, maybe the content of break-out sessions could be catered to supervisors, or staff that are brand new to TEA, etc.

I'm loving this opportunity to be involved with planning and feedback! A couple of ideas for logistics and content:

Could we still have science fair/round table style booths to allow for quick questions and 1:1 conversations, while planning ~30 min breakout sessions for topics that have more complex info (FMLA, etc)? That would give people the opportunity for follow-up, exploring booths, or a short break within the 1-hour window.

Perhaps we could add "learning labs" during the afternoon to help with the breakout session capacity issues. Possible topics: Hybrid engagement tools, hybrid meeting setup/tech demonstrations, user-centered design

It's been a while since I've been in the Barbara Jordan building. Can we confirm that the rooms we're using for the breakout sessions have screens, mics, and cameras? If not, then we should think through how to handle those audio/visual issues in advance.

I assume we will want to use Teams to host the sessions and interact with the virtual audience as well as the in-person attendees. I'd also like to suggest a technology rehearsal to troubleshoot issues and make sure staff hosting break-outs know how to use the tech before Symposium Day, maybe have a designated IT person for each breakout session to support, etc.
