How to Break Your Procrastination Habit (For Good)

According to Dictionary.com, procrastination is the act or habit of putting off or delaying something. I think that we are all guilty of procrastinating because it is a very easy thing to do. Most of us would rather binge watch Stranger Things on Netflix than write a two-page essay due in two days. I can admit to procrastinating almost everyday, which is why I chose this video. It has always been hard to break my procrastination habit because it is so easy to simply choose fun over work. I chose this video because I have always struggled with prioritizing what is important and what is not. I get easily distracted when I'm actually trying to do my work and then I end up putting my work away before I am finished. I then forget about it until the day before it's due and I rush to get it done. It becomes poor quality work because I didn't put my biggest effort into it and I didn't manage my time well to be able to get it done right and on time.

How Ben Franklin Structured His Day

According to Vocabulary.com, a schedule is a plan of things to be done and the time when they will be done. Ben Franklin had a schedule that helped him structure his day. Just like Ben Franklin, people, especially students should structure their day with a schedule. Schedules will help manage time by structuring the day by the hour. These days, an agenda is very common. I use an agenda and I make sure to write down everything that I need to do each day. Once I know what needs to be done, I schedule my day by the hour. For example, if I have to study for a science test, I will write down that I have to study for science from 1pm to 2:30pm. That helps me be organized with my day so that I don't spend my day trying to figure out what to do when I already have it written down. It also helps me make sure that I make the best out of my day by spending quality time doing my work.

How to Study and Do Homework in a Time Crunch

According to Dictionary.com, time crunch is limited time to complete work; meeting a deadline in limited time; a small amount of time to finish tasks. Most students can admit that they have delayed studying and homework until the last minute. I can admit to it because there have been a few times since I started high school that I didn't begin studying until the night before the test. I tried to fit in as much information into my brain, thinking that I would retain all of it, but I couldn't. I chose this video because I could relate to having to study the night before a test. If I had just managed my time appropriately all those times before, I wouldn't of had to stress about it the night before. If this were to happen again, which it probably will, I'll just have to prioritize what is more urgently needed to be done.
