FIFA run world football and as well as organising international tournaments, Fifa sees its role as protecting and developing the game of football for everyone around the world.

Scandals of corruption can tarnish their reputation. This can make sponsors drop out.

FIFA believe football creates powerful opportunities to break down barriers. They aim to increase social development, education and health awareness.

From 2005-2015, support FIFA has provided through FFH has benefited 450 programmes run by 170 non govt organisations serving many people over the world.
Here are some things they help with:
.HIV /AIDS education
. Gender Equality - Another way to break down barriers
. Social integration - intellectual disabilities - This is another way of breaking down barriers
.Youth leadership - This will inspire young people become involved in football

There is another programme FIFA are involved in called Football For The Planet.
This aims to limit the negative effects football is having on the environment. Waste management in stadiums and sustainable stadiums and reducing their carbon dioxide.

Recent: Russia 2018 World Cup - Sustainability Strategy
. Decent working conditions
. Create opportunity for people from low income groups to obtain tickets
. Promote healthy lifestyles - tackling social issues (crime/anti-social behaviour)
.Promote biodiversity

Running these programmes allow FIFA to try and change the public perception of them to a more postive one as the media can over exaggerate the corruption scandal for e.g but fail to show how FIFA are actually creating a positive change.

This tells us that FIFA have many different projects in which they aim to become more sustainable however, many people are still unaware of funding that is available to allow changes and development to take place within communities.
