NIGHTSHIFT = yesterday I had my first night shift in the hospital and it was very tiring but also interesting 

PROMOTION = today I got a promotion, I’m really happy because I worked hard to get it!

SCALPEL = the skin was professionally removed with a scalpel, used by a surgeon

ANAESTHESIS = the anaesthesis went to the patient today to get approval for anaesthesia 

TRIAGE NURSE = I gave all the necessary information to the triage nurse

STERILE = today I saw doing the medication of a sternal wound, which is a sterile procedure

LOCAL ANAESTHETIC = the patient need a local anesthesia to not feel pain during the removal of caries

TUMOUR = if your head hurts doesn’t mean you have a brain tumour 

SWOLLEN =this baby has a very swollen abdomen, let’s get an X-ray right away

NAUSEA = I have nausea for over an hour, maybe tonight I drank too much

ALLERGIC = I’m allergic to pollen and many other flowers, spring is my nightmare!

ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK = the girl didn’t know she was allergic to peanuts, so she had anaphylactic shock

FIRST AID KIT = fortunately we have the first aid kit, which is always useful

PHYSIOTHERAPIST = we need to call the physiotherapist because it helps you walk

Throughout my time in the cardiology department, I had the opportunity to interact with patients and their families. I witnessed the importance of providing emotional support and reassurance to patients who were anxious about their heart conditions. Overall, my first experience in the cardiology department as a nursing student was incredibly extraordinary, it also ignited my passion for cardiology and affirmed my choice to pursue a career in nursing.

Actors:

[Nurse Sara Rossi]: “Dr. Ferretti we have a new patient, Alice 10 years old, complains of severe pain in the abdomen. I visited her and collected all the necessary information and assigned her the code blue”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: “Thank you Sara, I go immediately to visit her"

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: (Dr. Ferretti goes to Alice) “Hello Sara, how are you? Tell me where you have pain and what you feel.

[Patient Alice]: “Hello Doctor, I’m not very well, I have a lot of pain in the upper abdomen, like cramps and I can’t stand straight with my back but if I’m bent with my back it hurts less”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: “We’ll get an X-ray to make sure everything’s okay”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: (after half a hour he received the result of the x-ray) “Mrs. Giordani from the X-ray is everything according to the norm”

[Filippo Giordani]: “I’m happy to hear this, but then why is Sara in so much pain?”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: “we’re trying to figure it out, so now we’re going to do blood tests”

[Nurse Sara Rossi]: “Come on Sara, sit down and be quiet, I’ll be quick and you’ll feel just a pinch”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: (after a while the doctor receives the results of blood tests) “From the results of the blood tests is all in order. Mrs. Giordani, how is Sara eating lately? Do you often eat fried or fatty food?”

[Filippo Giordani]: “It happened lately that Sara ate Mc. Donald’s more than usual”

[Dr. Mario Ferretti]: “Most likely it’s the wrong diet Sara’s had lately. Being young, all this fat and fried food will have irritated the stomach, causing these cramps. I give her these pills that are gastro-protectors, and she has to take one tablet a day before breakfast. And of course follow a light diet without abusing fatty and fried foods”

[Filippo Giordani]: “Thanks Dr. Ferretti we will definitely be more careful to what he eats Sara”

I decided to enroll in nursing at the last moment because I was undecided with other faculties such as obstetrics or speech therapy that have both in common in order to help others; then when I discovered that there was the possibility of choosing "pediatric nursing" instead of "general nursing" I immediately chose it without even thinking twice, because I always dreamed of doing a job that included children.

I had a personal experience with a family member who got sick, and seeing the compassionate care provided by the nurses really inspired me. Their dedication, empathy, and ability to make a difference left a lasting impression on me.
