WEEK 3&4 : pillars of iman

For this 2 weeks of usrah, we discussed about pillars of iman.

Week 3 ;

BELIEF IN ALLAH (TAUHID)

Allah is the only creator and sustainer of the universe.

There are 3 types of tauhid under the Surah Maryam , Ayah 65: “Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, so worship Him and be steadfast in His worship. Do you know of anyone similar to Him?”

(Surah Maryam, 19:65)

-Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship)

This Tawhid refers to the belief that Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of all that exists:

- Allah alone controls the universe and everything within it. He is the one who gives life, causes death, provides sustenance, and manages the affairs of creation.

- No one shares in Allah’s power.

-Monotheism , belief in one god , the one and only ALLAH.

-Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Worship)

This refers to the belief that only Allah is worthy of worship:

- Muslims must have the intention to acts of worship, such as prayer, fasting, supplication, sacrifice, and reliance only to Allah.

- Any form of worship to anything other than Allah is considered shirk (associating Allah). Which is the biggest sin in islam.

- This type of Tawhid show submission to Allah is not only acknowledged His Lordship but tu submit fully to Him.

-Tawhid al-Asma' wa'l-Sifat (Oneness of Allah’s Names and Attributes)

This aspect of Tawhid relates to the belief that Allah’s names and attributes are unique.

- Allah has described Himself through various names and attributes in the Quran and Sunnah, such as The Most Merciful (Ar-Rahman), The All-Knowing (Al-‘Alim), and The Creator (Al-Khaliq).

- Any attempt to attribute human limitations to Allah or to liken Him to His creation would violate this principle of Tawhid.

Belief in Angels (Mala’ika)

Angels are a creation of Allah, made from light, and their roles as messengers and servants of God:

• Angels are free from sin and act only according to Allah’s will, without disobedience.

• They are involved in carrying out divine orders, such as delivering revelations, recording deeds, and administering the affairs of the universe.

• Notable angels include Jibril (Gabriel), who delivers revelation; Mikail (Michael), who provides sustenance and rain; Israfil, who will blow the trumpet on the Day of Judgment; and Malik and Munkar and Nakir, who oversee matters in the afterlife.

Belief in the Divine Books

Muslims believe that Allah revealed divine scriptures to guide humanity:

• The Tawrat, Zabur ,Injil ,Al- Qurān.

• While previous scriptures were sent as guidance, Muslims believe the Quran is the final and most complete revelation, preserved by Allah from any alteration or corruption.

• The Quran serves as a comprehensive guide for all aspects of life, from spiritual beliefs to legal matters

WEEK 4 ;

Belief in the Prophets

Prophets are chosen messengers of Allah, sent to guide humanity:

• Muslims believe in all the prophets .

• Prophets are the best of humans, but still human, with the mission to teach monotheism, morality, and the proper way to worship Allah.

• Prophet Muhammad is regarded as the Seal of the Prophets, meaning he is the last prophet sent by Allah, and his message, the Quran, is applicable for all time.

Follow the lifestyle prophet Muhammad

- Grateful and thankful to Allah

-Sabr , everybody have their own challenges

-Always help others

-simple

-low profile

Belief in the Day of Judgment (Yawm al-Qiyamal)

• On this day, every person will be resurrected from their graves and judged for their deeds in life. Every individual will face either eternal bliss (Paradise) or eternal punishment (Hellfire) based on their actions and faith.

-Everything in this dunya is temporary

-keep on “muhasabah” ourselves

-Make us remember Allah’s greatness

- Make us love Allah

-Make us do more kindness

Belief in Qadr and Qada’

Belief in Qadr means that everything in the universe unfolds according to Allah’s plan:

	•	Muslims believe that Allah has complete knowledge of everything—past, present, and future. He knows what will happen and how events will unfold.

Qada is the moment when something decreed by Allah comes into existence.

	•	It can refer to specific events, actions, or outcomes that Allah has willed to happen at a certain time.

	•	When something happens, whether good or bad, it is because Allah has decreed it to happen.

He spent 950 years to guide his people to the right path. Despite the long duration and his's people persistent. Prophet Nuh, maintained his ihsan by continuing to preach with sincerity, wisdom and compassion.

Prophet IBRAHIM A.S

Prophet Ibrahim's life often knows as the model of submission, sacrifice, and Ihsan. Prophet Ibrahim stood up against his father and his people , to lead them to monotheism, which is to worshiping ALLAH while they worshipped idols.

Prophet YUSUF A.S

As in Surah Yusuf, is full with lessons of ihsan, in how he dealt with hardship, temptation, and power. He was betrayed by his brothers, thrown into a well , sell into slavery and later wrongfully imprisoned. When prophet Yusuf was appointed as a minister in Egypt, he conducted the country's during a famine with wisdom, justice and fairness.

In conclusion, in this Dunya there are three things we need to hold into 1. ISLAM 2.IMAN 3. IHSAN because in the day of the hereafter everyone will be resurrected and be counted and rewarded for their deeds.
