About Us: We are Group 9.4 Year 1, Semester 1, Undergraduate Students from Faculty of Resource Science and Technology of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. We just started our small business during in this period of a time and try to provide an excellent service for the community especially during this pandemic. We provide decorative kits that consists of bookmarks, memo pads, stickers and washi tapes that can be used to design or create a beautiful background for notebooks and paper notes. These decorative kits can help to enhance the appearance of our notebooks or paper notes so that we do not feel bored of only read the words without captivating design on the papers.

Our Product/Services: We provide a set of decorative kit that can give an attractive outcome of your notebooks or papers and for those who loves aesthetic artwork. Our decorative kit set consists of washi tapes, bookmarks, memo pad, and stickers that will make your notebooks captivating in terms of jotting down the notes and you will sure find some interest in reading the notes. Washi tapes that contain lots of patterns, bookmarks with unique design, thick yet good quality memo pad and appealing stickers for customers regardless of age and genders. Our service also come out with online banking and cash on delivery (COD). For those who is having difficulties in reaching out to us, we also can deliver through postage or go to our customers’ place right away because we want to ensure a good service for our customers and make sure that they received our product as our customers are our first priority.

1.       Gender and Age - Small businesses often target customers by gender or age. For example, decorative kits usually attract more females than males and directs its promotional efforts at women but males that are interested with our product also able to increase our marketing. Similarly, some small business market to specific age groups. For example, business selling decorative kits for people close to children till adult age may target people at the age of 12 and late 30s. Usually people with young age are enthusiastically in decorating their items because they would love to see a captivating items that suit their style.

2.       Segmenting Customers by Income - Income is another measure used by businesses to target customers. Usually, discount stores serve medium or lower and no income buyers. For example, we sell our products as low as RM15 per decorative kits for those with low or no income because based on our survey, most of them are students with no income as all of them are students. In their price spectrum, students with lower or no incomes are more likely to buy decorative kits with lower price.

3.       Targeting Customers With Certain Lifestyle Preferences - Target markets, defined as psychographic factors, can also be differentiated from lifestyle preferences. Preferences in lifestyles also contribute to the habits, hobbies or interests of individuals. For starters, we sell decorative kits for those who has an interest in decorating or designing their notebooks and paper notes as they love to see attractive background for their notes so that they can easily read the notes without feeling stultify of reading plain paper with only words. They prefer to see stunning background on their notebook or paper notes for their handwritten notes in order to stay concentrate and focus to the notes that they jotted down.

4.       Targeting By Purchasing Cycles - Small businesses like us may identify target markets through various consumer purchasing cycles. A decorative kit can obtain daily business from day till night from the order purchasing. The same business as decorative kits may draw individuals consists of children and teenagers. Therefore, advertisers also produce multiple attractive items and promotion of product depending on where their establishments are patronised by individuals.

5.       Identifying Target Markets - Small businesses can best identify their target markets through market research. For example, our company may conduct 200 decorative kits surveys among customers in its various markets. We may ask these consumers to provide information such as age, education, employment status, household size and income. This way, we can develop profiles of our typical customers.

6.       Profile ideal client - These are usually clients who because they enjoy our service, are sure to become our raving fans.
