I learned that OER is a resource that has little to no cost and really gives many opportunities to access knowledge any time and any place the student is willing to learn. I learned that these two concepts in combination are really a power duo, they complement and support each other very well. Using them together in the classroom can only improve the learning environment, give flexibility, and empower the students and the teacher. This can help us bridge the gap of equity. 
Accessibility- When in combination this allows students to not stress over the cost of books or materials. Students can now access the material any time or any place and often times in many formats like video, audio, or written formats. Accessibility in the classroom also opens up for students with disabilities and advanced gifted students. 
Availability of technology resources- When in combination these concepts both allow and provide much needed flexibility. In presentation, in demonstrations of knowledge and skills, and in ways that keeps students engaged. Today there are many forms of availability to technology resources such as many schools give tablets to children that need it, there is access in the school as well as in the public library. Many educators also communicate this via email or phone to parents.
