Assuming this type of Social Studies is history, you can have students make an interactive timeline of learned events, a person of the past, and so on. Some topics can be Native Americans, the Mayans, political events, and more! Its a great way for students to focus their interest and have them actively thinking, which can help with retaining the information for later use. I would give students plenty of time to do this so they can get creative!

There are many things that could work, you could use one of the technologies we have used in class like the podcast website and have them make a fun and engaging podcast about a certain topic they enjoy from the class.

Writing a paper over a topic or chapter covered in your lessons. This would help reinforce the topic in the students minds and help them revisit older assignments.

There are so many different types of technology that I feel would work amazingly in a Social Studies end-of-the-year project setting. For starters like Daniel mentioned, the creation of a podcast with technology we used in this class would be a great project for students to map out/plan and execute (perhaps following a rubric). Another great tool would be the creation of an interactive museum/gallery using online technology and coding! This could help students learn the content and express their creativity as well.

It would be super cool if they could pick their favorite topic from the year, or from a list provided and make a slide show presentation to share with the class.
