We are a cluster of schools from Glasgow and South Ayrshire, in Scotland and we have developed a Connecting Classroom project with 6 schools in Mumbai. We had originally planed for some reciprocal visits to take place , however, Covid put a halt to all that. We have continued to develop the project through digital communication, and recently were highly commended in the LfS Awards - developing community group. We identified single use plastic bottle waste as being an issues in the school. To overcome this, we contacted our local authority who have provided more plastic bottle recycling bins. Additionally, following a classroom audit, classrooms will be issued with both paper and plastic bottle recycling bags. We chose to spend our Connecting classroom funding on Turnbull High School branded reusable water bottles for our entire S1 cohort.
