ISO 200, aperture f/22, Shutter speed 1/3.

This photo is very bright due to the slow shutter speed. The aperture is open for a longer time which lets in more light. The photo is of a boy jumping. He melts in to the background so you can almost not see him.

Explanation

To change the camera to be shutter-priority you turn the round button on top of the camera to s.

When you change the shutter speed you change the amount of time there is to let light in to the camera. Slow shutter speed lets more light in since there is more time for the camera to actually let the light in. Fast shutter speed is the opposite. There is not much time to let in light which results in a darker picture.

You would want to use shutter- priority is you want to control the shutter speed and not care as much about aperture. By using shutter-priority the camera automatically chooses the aperture for you.
