Riders are taken through a typical year in the life of a college student. The ride is designed to emulate the highs and lows of education, including the surprises and need to adapt and grow resilience.

Step into The Mystery Mountain, where an exciting new ride blurs the lines between adventure and education. This immersive experience simulates the building of a theme park from the ground up, placing riders at the heart of the action.

At its core, this is a game within a game — a series of construction-themed escape room simulators, each representing different vocational sectors within the construction industry: plumbing, electrical installations, bricklaying, carpentry, and painting and decorating. In each zone, participants face hands-on challenges such as building a wall, cutting timbers, or mixing colours using precise ratios. These tasks are designed to develop and test real-world numeracy and literacy skills, all while navigating authentic construction scenarios.

Each completed task propels riders onto a short rollercoaster, taking them to the next area. However, failure to follow instructions or complete a task leads to a themed “exit” — for example, a plumbing challenge might end in a soaking log flume ride, while a misstep in the electrical zone could result in a dramatic drop via a faulty lift.

The ride is designed to be replayable, encouraging riders to sharpen their skills and try again. Successful participants will be rewarded with a health and safety certificate and the ultimate honour — a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony to “open” the new theme park.
