         <title>Right now in second grade there is perfect alignment!  We are studying both nonfiction reading and writing.  In addition, teaching our interactions unit in science.  It provides multiple opportunities to practice the crossover ELA skills and strategies such as close reading, determining importance, and synthesizing.   </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As we transition into reading more nonfiction, I like to observe how the children approach it.&nbsp;&nbsp; It is interesting to see how children really understand the difference between reading nonfiction versus fiction.&nbsp; I think we have to be deliberate at this age showing how these strategies carry over into content areas.&nbsp; </div>]]></description>
