I know its description because the entire poem is talking about herself except for "I go boo! make them shoo". In paragraph 37 she says "I got a magical charm I keep up my sleeve, I can walk the ocean floor and never have to breathe!" That piece of evidence shows how Maya is talking about herself which proves that the text structure is description. I know this because she is talking about herself 90% of the poem also describing that fear has no effect on her.  The reason why I pointed out "Fear has no effect on her" is because that's another way to show that the text structure is describing details about the character.  Another way this is a description poem is because she says "Life doesn't frighten me at all" That shows how shes describing herself again,giving us more evidence to prove that this is a description poem.   It could also be Compare&Contrast. In stanza 6, of Life Doesn't Frighten Me, it states, "Don't show me frogs and snakes/And listen for my screams/If I'm afraid at all/It's only in my dreams." This quote shows how many people are scared of frogs and snakes, but she isn't.
