Some types may be more comfortable or more reliable in reducing the chance of teen pregnancy or contracting an STD. "Being continuously abstinent is the only way to be absolutely sure that you won't have an unintended pregnancy or get a sexually transmitted disease, or an STD"(7). Birth control is also an option. The most effective way of reducing the chance of STDs is using a condom. "Only condoms have been proven to reduce the risk of getting some STDs"(9).
