The article I read online was extremely vague and generalized when trying to explain a child's temperament. The article did not expand at all on the different types of temperament and seemed more as a reassurance for the parents of children with "strange" behavior.

When describing the different types of temperament (the website did not even mention) are explained very thoroughly in the textbook. The text book gives the classifications of Chess and Thomas as a pair as well as the classifications of Rothbart and Bates. The textbook even goes into detail on the different sets of classifications with references and examples.

The text book even goes into extreme detail of how biological foundations and experiences, gender, and parenting can affect a child's temperament! I think this is great, the book gives such a good explanation of what temperament is and how it is classified with different children from different backgrounds and living situations (goodness of fit).
