         <description><![CDATA[<div>Retracting in Northern Africa, Southern and Northern Europe in the tundra and alpines. <br>Expanding biomes are in temperature regions such as places with mixed forest located in Canada as well as temperature conifer forests in New Zealand. <br>Shifts in biomes are probably due to alterations in temperature and precipitation patterns due to climate change. A large factor contributing to this is increase industrialisation &amp; gas emissions.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Expanding:<br>- Desert biomes are more common in the northern hemisphere and are expanding in areas such as Northern Africa and the Middle East. This is due to the high air pressures since these areas are located where dense cooler air comes down. <br>Retracting:<br>- The tundra biomes are retracting in areas far up north such as North Russia and North Canada. This may be due to global warming and the melting of snowcaps and glaciers </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the north particularly Alaska ice biomes are retracting and conifer/mixed forest biome is expanding. <br>In the sub-saharan Africa the desert is retracting and tropical woodland is expanding this isn't a large area, and is most likely because of the initiative to prevent the desertification of the area. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout the Northern Hemisphere, In North America there is a retracting biome of the Tundra and Alpine and similarly in Asia. In areas of Northern Africa has a retracting biome of the Tropical Grassland. However in the Southern Hemisphere, such as in New-zealand the  retracting biome are Temperature Broad leaf Forest. <br><br>Throughout the Northern Hemisphere such as in  North America and Asia there are expanding biomes of the temperature Broad Leaf Forest. Africa has an expanding biome of the tropic woodlands and New Zealand has a  expanding biome of Temperate Shrub-land.  </div>]]></description>
