Expanding biomes are in temperature regions such as places with mixed forest located in Canada as well as temperature conifer forests in New Zealand. 
Shifts in biomes are probably due to alterations in temperature and precipitation patterns due to climate change. A large factor contributing to this is increase industrialisation & gas emissions.
