There are some nice hints about Brazilian culture that you should know in order to get the best out of your stay. I think it will help you a lot. Let's see.

Firstly, you have to know that birthday parties are important, especially here in my home. Writing down the dates is a good idea to not forget to congratulate someone. You have also to be ready for surprise parties, it happens all the time. About gifts, don´t worry, your participation is the most important thing.

Another thing you should know is that Brazilian people eat<del>s</del> several meals. For sure, there are three most important: break fast, lunch and dinner. But, besides that, every time is a good opportunity to have a "cafezinho" and you have to join in. They are a great chance to learn portuguese language and to get along with your host family.

Here in Brazil, there isn't so much formality. You can dress the way you want. You've to be comfortable. If there is any special occasion, you will be warned. You can relax about it.

Unfortunately, some items are very expensive here in Brazil. In fact, it depends on the region where you are staying. If you were in a touristic city or a capital of the state, the things probably will be more expensive. My family, for instance, lives in small town so you can buy things for a better price. To sum up, you should be prepared. Save same money before getting here.

Finally, you need to know that the most important thing is to live new experiences. It will be great if you allow yourself to attend local events and meet Brazilian people. I hope these tips are useful.

Good lucky in your trip.
Brazil is amazing!

So, you're thinking to spend some time on a brazilian house? Well, that's a good way to know our culture the way it really is. If you already visited Brazil as a tourist, you may have got some first impressions. Some habits sold to tourists like <del>the </del>listening to samba music, the "churrascos" and the overall sympathetic and receptive posture of the brazilian people do happen, but not as frequently as you might think.

When you experience our day-to-day life, you will notice that most of the people do like listening to samba, but not all the time and not just it. In a matter o fact, Brazil have many differents musical genres like pagode (reminds samba), sertanejo (kind of a brazilian country) or MPB (brazilian popular music), in which the preference varies depending in the region.

The famous "churrasco" is more of a way to get together with friends or family than a recurring meal. On our daily routine, expect<del>s</del> usually three meals: a breakfast mainly composed by bread (with something like butter) and coffe; and a lunch and a dinner with rice, beans, some kind of meat and vegetable.

Lastly, pay attention to the overall receptiveness of the people, especially on the big cities. Overall we are hosts, but people in the street or traffic would often be stressed or in a hurry. So be aware of how you talk or approach them, otherwise you might learn some -not so kind- new words in portuguese.

Brazil is a good place to visit in general. The traditions here are opening to receive tourists. In this particularly house you don’t have to worry about many rules.
You can eat traditional Brazilian food if you want it. Just Certificate if the house you will stay in is vegetarian or not.
You can ask a local food on the app or you can buy the ingredients in the supermarket and cook together with the family too.
Most of the time is hot in here, so I suggest no to bring too much heavy clothes because you probably will not use, but you can dress the way you prefer.
This house Its quite silence because I read a lot so its not a good place to do parties all night long, but you can invite some new friends in, of course.
In this house we don’t have any kind of specific formality, you just have to be educated and clean, like a normal people.
I suggest take care of your iphone and money as well, sometimes people get<del>s</del> robed in this country, not that much in our city but still, it’s a good warning.
You are free to scheduele your own meal times and activities from the day.

I have lived in Brazil my entire life and with that I can assure you It's worth staying here some time. Due to the dimensions of the country which seems more like a continent, everywhere you go you can learn different cultures and lifestyles. Even though I am brazilian still have a lot of things to learn in my own country.

I live in the countryside of Brazil, in the south region. Here and in my family, It's more usual to ask for blessings from your old relatives every time you see them and also refer to them more politely. It's a matter of respect to them but some families don't have this custom.

Besides that one It's extremely important to eat meals together, especially on sundays. In this lunch the family gathers and talks about the things. The food is very important too. On these weekends family meetings is very common to make a brazilian barbecue. This barbecue has different preparations than the US one and is very typical from here. It's important that you try it. Even if the delicious chicken heart seems a little too much.

And finally make sure to have fun checking the Festivals. They are also a big thing here in Brazil. In the countryside we love the June and July festivals. The food is amazing and has a lot of influences from the northeast region.

There are some things you have to know before coming to Brazil. I hope with these tips you have a nice brasilian experience !
First, you will have great moments if you make friends with brazilians, you will have a lot of fun, they will help you with everything and you will have company all the time ! The other things are: Brazilian aren’t punctual, if the meeting is three o’clock, it means it will start about 3:20 o’clock. But the buses are punctual - almost all the time. In Brazilians' houses there is not much time for breakfast, because we are almost late for service, which usually starts very early about 7 and 8 o’clock. So the main meal is lunch, enjoy the rice and beans brazilians! And, if you’re going to eat at someone’s house, after that don’t leave your plate on the table, offer to clean the dishes, be helpful. Also, the people like to talk a lot, so be sociable, talk about your life, they like to know everything about the person.
You may have heard about violence and robberies in this country, all true. So be careful, always pay attention, and avoid being alone. Not everyone will be kind to you, but try to be polite. Besides that, go to as many parties as you can, go to the beaches, try all the foods, and have fun in Brazil!

If you are going to stay in Brazil to study, you should know these things to survive. I hope you enjoy these tips, from a brasilian person, who live in the south of the country, and know more about that part.

First of all, you need to know about the Brazilian food, it’s kind of different from the rest of the planet, and the Brazian people<del>s</del>, expected you know and like that. You probably need to like rice and beans, in some families all the meals have this.

Another thing is the celebration. In Brazil, some celebrations are very important, like christmas, new year, carnival, so, enjoy it with your family or, if you don’t believe, respect their culture these days. To celebrate it and other things, the Brazilian normally do a barbecue, it’s a very important costum, mostly in the south part.

One different tip, for your survival, is take care with your money, mainly in the tourist cities, because there are too many steals. So be careful and don’t carry too much money in the streets.

Finally, two more tips, the first one is that in Brazil Sunday is sacred for most families, and they usually enjoy it with their family. And the second is to remember <del>you </del>to be a sociable person, and polite with the older ones. So do the half term, and you will be great there.
