As it is, although Caribbean countries are modernizing, there is still a very high level of brain drain that they experience. As such, whether they were to enter the global village or not, this will still remain a major issue. Caribbean people are already gravitating to international heights, be it through education, employment opportunities or a better lifestyle. This can therefore conclude that citizens are already joining "global village".

If the Caribbean were to join the global village, traditional culture may have more exposure and people may more readily accept their Caribbean identity.
This will an even greater exposure to Caribbean festivals. As you may know, Carnival is already such a great tourist attraction, that if this was to become globally recognized, islands such as Jamaica and Trinidad will benefit greatly.
However, for this to promote positive outcomes, the islands themselves must ensure the safety and integrity of being involved globally.
In recent times, crime levels have significantly increased. You can see how this will have a negative impact, reducing countries' willingness to associate themselves with countries of such high crime rates because they are not just looking to make an economic gain but also a political statement.

Globalisation in the Caribbean is evident, from music, to clothing, to food. The Caribbean is diverse but traditional Caribbean cultures are being replaced by Eurocentric ways. A lot of multinational companies are making their mark on Caribbean grounds and technology is aiding in their influence especially through television. Instead of contributing to local economies, people are contributing to foreign economies.

The Caribbean may be integrated but they still have a small resource in terms of skills and natural resources; due to the location of the Caribbean islands and them being outside of established trading routes, international transportation is very costly. Its proneness to natural disasters results in high export and high import dependence including, in particular, imported energy.
