I met Vivi in seventh grade. At the time she was just a school friend. Once eight grade started we began to talk a little bit more. Towards the end of eight grade we decided to sign up for summer school to get out P.E credit done. Then summer school began, we started to talk way more and gave her rides home. She came over too. And before you know it we were inseparable. We hung out everyday before, in, and after summer school. Once summer school ended she spent the rest of her summer at her dads. I didn't get to see her much but we planned to hangout once school started, and we did! We still hang out everyday and my family loves her! Its so weird to see my family get along with her so well because they're really judgmental and usually dont like my friends. Recently I found out shes moving. At first I didn't know how to feel, I thought she was joking when she told me. But later on I realized it wasn't a joke. As time passed its getting closer and closer until she leaves. We tried convincing her mom to not move. We tried and tried and begged and begged but her mom wouldn't budge. I feel very devastated because she only has one more week left.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because in the end you dont always get what you want. As much as you want it, as much as you beg and hope it works out it doesnt always.

I love cats. I also love dogs but recently i've really wanted a cat. I already have one but hes old and lazy, I still love him tho. One day I came across a post of a person selling cats. He was perfect he had the prettiest blue eyes and had grey fur with white on his tail. I immediately knew I wanted him. He was a kitten which was also perfect because he would be young and playful. I showed my parents and my mom said she would think about it. I got excited because this usually meant a yes. I waited patiently for a response. Days had passed and I reminded my mom about it in case she forgot. She told me she had to ask my dad and that when I started to worry. She ended up asking him and he sad no. I felt devastated. I tried to come up with good reasons for why we should get the kitten but no matter how much I begged and how much reasons I gave to get one the answer was still no.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it gives an example of a time I really wanted something more than anything and still didn't ended up getting it. You don't always get what you want.

On the weekends I am often bored. I am usually home but when i'm not I usually go out. I usually go to quinces. I love going to them they're so fun and you meet new people and you just overall have a good time dancing with your friends. This one time I hadn't gone to a quince in a while and I had one coming up so I decided to ask for permission to go, because I haven't gone out in a while so why would my dad say no. I asked him and he just gave me a stare and although that didn't seem like a yes it still wasn't a no. So I waited a little bit before asking him again. I really really wanted to go to this quince because all my friends were going and everyone was saying it was gonna be really fun and I was hoping my dad was going to let me go. I asked again and this time he spoke. I don't really remember much of what he said because he gave me like a 30 minute lecture but basically the answer was no. I was really upset because I was looking forward to seeing my friends and I had already told them I was going to be there.

How does this relate to the theme?

This example shows a time where I really wanted to go somewhere and really hoped it would work out. But it didn't. In the end I didn't get what I wanted and I stayed home.
