Japan showed aggression during WWII by attacking Pearl Harbor by surprise. The U.S. had cracked one of their codes for when they were to attack Southeast Asia and we sent aid to help try to stop them. When that didn't work Roosevelt cut of their oil supply but they continued with their plans hoping to catch the European colonial powers and the United States by surprise. With this they planned massive attacks on British and Dutch colonies in Southeast Asia and an American outpost in the Pacific along with a surprise attack on the U.S. fleet in Hawaii. On December 7, 1941 they attacked and it was forever to be known as “a date that will live in infamy.”

During WWII the different countries had to come up with different military strategies to be able to succeed. Russia's military strategy was called Scored Earth and it was a tactic to bring in Germany as close as possible and have them waste all their supplies and resources during this time so the Russians could be able to push them back with tanks and aircrafts. The German's new military strategy was called the Blitzkrieg which was mainly the focus on using mobile forces and attack to their advantage. The American strategy was called Island Hopping in which it was used to hop from island to island in order to take over Japan. The Japanese attack, Kamikaze attacks, were where pilots would crash into the enemy as a suicide mission.

The major turning points in WWII were the Battle of Britain because it was the first time Hitler was stopped. Also I believe the Battle of the Coral Sea was one of the major turning points of WWII because it was the war that Japan had lost to. I think these two battles were the turning points because we were able to stop Hitler and weaken Japanese defenses.
