The article highlights the urgent reality of climate change, showing how human actions are intensifying the Earth's natural cycles, leading to record-breaking temperatures and unprecedented weather events. This news serves as a stark reminder that we must take immediate action; the rising temperatures are not just numbers, but a powerful call to protect our planet.

Nuryn

Name of article: ‘India saves the tiger and now confronts a new, growing problem’

My reflection: India manages to save the population of tigers however faces backlash as now the growing amount of tigers made it difficult for civilians living in the jungles to survive. The reason for that is due to the past, where there were less tigers roaming in the jungles. This benefits the people as there were less incidents of tigers mauling the people. This article raises debates on how to solve the problem by either having better habitat management, sterilisation or have licensed hunting. After reading this article, I am interested to learn more about how immuno-contraception - sterilisation plays in helping to tackle this problem.

Name of article :Doctors seeing more younger patients with neck pain; excessive smartphone use a key factor

My reflection : This article sheds light on a growing health concern that many of us may be experiencing without even realizing it—tech neck. It’s interesting to see how a lifestyle shift, accelerated by the pandemic and the rise of remote work, has resulted in a surge of younger patients suffering from conditions traditionally associated with older adults. The term “tech neck” may sound trivial, but the reality is far from it—it can lead to severe pain, headaches, and long-term health consequences like spine degeneration or nerve issues if not addressed early. What stood out to me was how seemingly harmless habits, like cradling a phone while working or hunching over a screen, can accumulate into serious medical conditions. The testimonies from doctors also reinforce the idea that posture, movement, and mindful device usage are more important now than ever. Their warnings about digital gaming and social media intensifying this problem resonate deeply in today’s screen-focused world.

Name of article: Planting millions of trees and helping communities:Meet the 'warrior‘ of the land

My reflection : Reading about Constantino Aucca Chutas and his reforestation efforts across the Andes Mountains is deeply inspiring. His dedication to restoring native forests through community-driven action shows the powerful impact one person can have when working hand-in-hand with local communities. What stood out to me most was his deep connection to the land as a descendant of indigenous Quechua farmers, and how that heritage fuels his mission. His work not only helps combat climate change by planting millions of trees, but also empowers thousands of families, preserves traditional knowledge, and protects endangered species. It's a reminder that environmental conservation isn’t just about nature—it’s also about people, culture, and working together for a better future.
