* The device is not currently FDA approved for use, although the company is currently working on approval (Hastings, 2020).
*Pain - although this is not talked about in the articles, as a postpartum nurse, I do question the patient's perception of pain from the device. Medications do usually take some time to work, and if this device only takes 3 minutes to start seeing a change I believe that would decrease blood loss. I also like the ease of using it - it doesn't seem to have many steps for use. This reminds me a lot of what we call a Bakri Baloon at my hospital, which is a balloon tamponade. However, the Bakri has to be kept in for 12-24 hours to stop bleeding, making it uncomfortable for the patient, and the patient must be moved back to labor and delivery, increasing the acuity of the unit. I think this team would be great to work with to evaluate the Jada System. I think Alice would be committed to our goal and will accomplish what she is tasked with. Communication is a key component in any situation and Carter can ensure everyone is communicating well. Izzie will help us with her input and what she feels would be best for our unit/hospital if we were to adopt the device. Randall would be able to ensure everyone is being held responsible with their part in evaluating.
