One of the major issues crippling effective learning in most schools is the methodologies of discipline enacted. The problem is associated with the development of distractions and disruptions since the time used to discipline a student leads to wastage of valuable time that would have otherwise been utilized in leaning (Nelson, Palonsky, & McCarthy, 2017). Teachers have often been faced with the limitation of deficiency of knowledge to deal with discipline affiliated cases where most have projected the lack of adequate mastery to maintain a favorable teacher-student relationship. For instance, educators find it hard to be friends with the students and at the same time maintain a teacher status which prompts respect and not fears from the students. The process impedes effective learning as psychological and emotional factors play a major role in the delivery of quality education. High Waters' teaching staff has been made to recognize the benefits of classroom management where the teachers acknowledge the root causes of discipline cases. Consequently, the data retrieved aids in the effectual implementation of strategies that minimize the occurrence of such incidences. The diverse types of disciplinary cases identified include disrespect, defiance, bullying, and aggression. Not only do they cause negative outcomes to the students but also the teachers as their teaching time is reduced and undermines the execution of their objectives (Nelson, Palonsky, & McCarthy, 2017). The school is affected since disciplinary actions reduce academic performance and lead to the cultivation of bad reputation in the community. Consequently, the management team like the board of directors would be held accountable as they would be perceived as inefficient in managing children in the institution. The community suffers on the grounds that the negatively affected students end up being bad community members who cause problems like increased crime and heightened poverty levels.

To counter the challenge, High Waters has embarked in community empowerment schemes such as frequent meetings with the parents to discuss issues that cultivate unfavorable behavior from the students. Through such programs, the parents and the community are enlightened on measures that aid in the reduction of negative triggers of discipline actions like child abuse at home (Nelson, Palonsky, & McCarthy, 2017). Additionally, the school has established a student support system in school where the students are supported to effectually deal with both favorable and negative factors in their lives. Teachers are also included in the corrective measures as the school holds frequent workshops that are purposed to train the teachers on effective classroom management schemes that aid in the cultivation of positive student-educator interactions. The school also has strict policies which are well communicated to the students and parents to enable evasion of actions that lead to disciplinary actions. Consequently, the measures aid in minimization of discipline affiliated cases and, in turn, lead to maximization of valuable time for the best possible delivery of quality education and realization of the organization’s vision and mission.
References
Nelson, J.

The relationship between the school and the external world is paramount for the success of any education affiliated institution. The interactions developed via the aid of public relations leads to mutual merits between the school and the targeted public. The main advantage of the process is the cultivation of effective school marketing schemes through the development of effectual communication strategies among all stakeholders associated. Educating organization are constantly sending out information about themselves to the public regardless of their actions. For instance, without a well-developed Public Relations (PR) plan, the conveyed information is that of an institution which is not interested in building a strong engagement plan with the public. That is, the school is perceived as not caring for what the public thinks. Therefore, it is important to send out favorable information that elevates the status and reputation of the school. PR should be conversant with the norms of the community to ensure the effective implementation of all schemes. For example, in a digitalized society, the school should employ the use of the most commonly used mediums to reach the public and engage them with the events of the institution.

High Waters High School recognizes the importance of PR and has engaged in effective measures to promote the element. Through the process, the public is made aware of all incidences in school such as performance levels, programs being offered, and budget implementation. Consequently, there is the development of mutually beneficial relationships as both the school and the public merit from the procedure. The school overcame the most spread myth that PR is only necessitated in the phase of crisis or reconstruction of reputation. PR strategies employed include sports activities, music, and cultural festivals, and any other event that engages stakeholders with the school. Message conveyance plan is an important tool during effectual management of PR as not only does it promote the process but also assists in eliminating the barriers of implementation of PR such as ambiguities in the definition of goals.
