The main technique that I learnt was to use low key and high key lighting to not have a shadow when taking pictures. I am conducting this piece of research as it allows me to gain extra knowledge about gambling as a whole and I can see what really happens when you get fully addicted. My main task for secondary research today was to acknowledge some of the effects of gambling and what it can lead to. personally, the use of completing this part of the secondary research, has had a massive impact on my idea as now I would like to try and persuade 16-24 year olds not to start gambling otherwise, it can change their life. from collecting this research, it has given me a clear understanding that gambling should have a massive effect on the audience as they're not wanting to be dragged into gambling and to lead them into negative outcomes. I am confident that my target audience I am aiming for (16-24), will have an effect on the topic as a whole because of the negative outcomes. I feel like today was a very productive day as I was able to achieve my personal target. I achieved my personal by using my individual skill on concentration to make me fully focus on completing this task. I do feel like I have now gained that understanding that I have been wanting because I can use some of the key points in my secondary research, in some of my questions for my questionnaires. The primary research I have completed was a questionnaire. The use of this was to find out the audiences different thoughts and feelings about many different sides of gambling. The secondary research I conducted was looking at different magazines and seeing how they promote different betting companies. From the questionnaire, I can understand that my target audience have many different views about gambling. This is a good conclusion as it gives me many different references I can use for evidence in the future and I can now see what will attract them towards my documentary. Also, we identified that our main target audience was 16-24 by the amount of people answered our questionnaire in that section. We can use this to our advantage as we now know what 16-24 year olds think about the different sides of gambling. We are also going to be conducting some 1to1's. We are going to use a range of ages because we feel like we want both genders of all ages, should have a saying of gambling and the different aspects around it.

So far, my research has had a huge impact on my ideas for my project. This is because from the questionnaire, it gave us a more in-depth understanding on what our specific target audience think about the different sections of gambling. I haven't made any clear changes in my ideas for this project as I now feel confident with promoting the effects of gambling which can have a massive effect on my target audience as then they will now not start gambling. In my opinion, I feel like my organisation skills are needing to improve to achieve my merit grade as I want to know where all my work is to make sure I am confident in moving onto other work. I am also needing to boost my skill of gathering efficient research to achieve my grade as I feel like some of the data I collect is not relevant and am wasting time. The secondary research I completed was production research. I conducted a mind map which was stating where I would use maths in my production and I feel this was useful as I can look back at this whenever I am in pre production. Also, I completed several different documents on the legal constraints which is helpful as it gave me a good understanding about the different facts about the gambling law and what you need to gamble if you're in the UK. I feel like this has given me the boost to push myself in completing any outstanding work as I am now more confident. I feel like my time management was effective and efficient. The reason behind this is that I can now manage my time which allows me to complete my pre production documents without any concerns. The pre production documents I prepared was production schedule and contingency plan. This is because I was wanting to complete this specific task as I can focus on what other documents I have to complete in the upcoming days. Completing the production, helps the production team as when recording our team meeting, we can discuss what we need to and when we need to complete it.

This is because, after our team meeting, we decided to change our idea from a documentary, to a advert.This is because, we were thinking of the different narratives and we thought that it would be easier to produce an advert simply because it will be shorter and effective. we also felt like the feedback from our peer, gave us a realisation to change our idea. It will be effective as we won't have any boring moments within the advert. Today, we completed a narrative mind map. The reason behind this was because we had several different stories but we couldn't decide what one to choose. This helped our production as it gave us a good understanding of what story to choose from. For todays lesson, we didn't do much experimentation as we were busy focussing on picking the narrative which we feel happy about. We did come up with a theoretical problem which was deciding out of 4 different narratives, to use for our product. I feel like I have experimented and looked into our different ideas and together, we chose the narrative we felt confident with. my opinion, I feel like we need to improve our organisation with sorting out our pre production documents because we need to upload to a reliable source so we can have a trusted source with our work on it. I feel like my job role of producer has helped today as I used my previous experience of organisation to gather loose pre production documents to keep us going through pre production. With using my skill of organisation and concetration, I was able to complete them. this is a huge plus as we as a group, can move onto the filming which is a huge relief because we thought we wouldn't meet the deadline. Initially, I planned to complete my storyboards and location reece. I feel like the use of completing this has boosted the confidence is our group as we can now fully focus on getting ready for filming. In the filming industry, completing is storyboards and location Reece as they can move onto filming and it is very similar to our production. In my opinion, we did come across some technical and practical issues. For practical, we were rushing to complete our storyboard so this clearly highlights that we didn't manage our time well which can be improved by having longer team meetings and discussing the possible issues into more depth. I feel like I need to improve my time management to be ready for production. this is because I am wanting to set myself different tasks which are completed within a moderate time which then gives me the option to work on other pre production documents. For homework, I need to double check whether all locations are ready for us to be filmed and also, check the weather for the days we are needing to film outside otherwise we will look back at our contingency plan to see the possible solutions. Different adverts will travel to different locations maybe to see if it is better than their original one or to see if it will fit in with the correct tone of their choice. The main theoretical problem we need to consider is that when we are working on our test shots, we have to be aware that we don't trip over some of the wires around the room. We need to consider that everything in the room is safe and we have seen the potential hazards. The first thing I carried out was a team meeting. This was effective as we discussed the different problems and how we can solve them. One of the problems was that were still unsure of what location should film at. I contributed in todays production by managing my time effectively. This was done by firstly having a team meeting, then moving onto completing the outstanding tasks we discussed in the meeting. As a result of the team meeting, we were going to Carry out some tests shots. An unexpected problem that occurred that we thought wouldn't appear was that the room we wanted to film, was full even though we knew it wouldn't. the result of this was that we arranged to film another day which allows us to fully focus on getting prepared for filming.This relates to industry practice as producers from many different films, have to discuss with their crew the problems and solutions. I feel like we were very organised which meant we knew what we had to film and we had the materials to do so. The one problem we did come across was that when we were wanting to record, the shots were not focusing. Therefore, we solved the issue by moving the lens to adjust the focus and now have learned that this is a problem which is common. 

My main aim for todays lesson was to film, look at the footage from yesterdays filming and top up on my diary logs. In my opinion, I feel like I achieved these targets but we did come across several issues which had to be solved. Firstly, Our main aim was to film in the motion the remaining scenes we had left. We shortly found out that the motion room was fully booked and we had to act professional. The way we did this was by having a team meeting to discuss when we are next going to film and where. Another target I wanted to complete was topping up my diary logs. I feel like I have completed this target thoroughly by looking over the gaps I have, and trying to start writing the missing diary logs. I do feel like my role of producer helped today a lot as I had to use my skill of organisation, to help me solve the problems and decide when we are next filming. When we did the test shooting, I was hoping to have a range of shots to show how the location can fit in with the atmosphere. I feel like today was going to be very productive as I am able to catch up on work that is outstanding. In the afternoon, I am hoping to go out filming the rest of our scenes to finalise our advert/footage. I do feel like I can develop my skill of organisation as needing to check the different materials such as travel and cost. This relates into the industry practice as different production companies do look into their travel to see if it is accomplishable. A problem we came across was that we were struggling to manage our time. Furthermore, we were not deciding when to film which was setting us back in the day. I feel like my personal targets that I set, were met professionally by using my individual skills to help me throughout the day.  I feel like our group are slowly progressing in production which is a good thing as the confidence grows together, in the group. I do feel like our team meetings are very useful when we carrying them out as we are able to reflect on previous work and an problems and solutions. From delta's lighting workshops, I feel like when we film in the motion room, I can reflect on what she showed us and what I can show when filming. We went an filmed a few of our scenes which was productive. We explored the different shots we could use and we decided to change most of our shots due to the fact we wanted the advert to be eye catching.

We filmed throughout most of the day which was productive as we was allowed plenty of time to experiment and take some shots from a various different angles. Overall, from todays shooting, we took plenty of different shots to give us that adaptation we needed. 

On the 31st, like again, my main aim was to finish filming but this time we were filming in the motion room. When it came to the afternoon, we had plenty of time to film which gave us the confidence to experiment the lighting to the best of our abilities. Originally, I was going to use two lights next to the camera to show the dominance of the main character. Throughout the day, I was able to position the lights in different areas around the set which was effective as I developed my lighting skills. I also had the past experience from Delta's workshop to help me get the most out of the 2 lights. This made us adapt to problem solving which is very good for the future as we will gain experience. 

The way we solved this issue was to ask another member of our class to see if he can help us out a little.
