Myth - Athena & Arachne

Arachne was a very artistic weaver and always boasted about how she is better than the goddess Athena. Athena was also known for being a talented weaver and heard about how Arachne is being disrespectful towards the gods. So, she challenged her to a weaving competition that lasted from dawn to night. Athena had woven a cloth with gods and goddesses all together at Mt. Olympus. Arachne on the other hand, made fun of the gods on her woven cloth. Although Arachne clearly won, Athena in anger, turned her into an arachnid (a spider). Readers should learn that those who are skillful should be respectful to those around them and not rudely boast about it.

Source: https://quatr.us/greeks/arachne-athena-greek-mythology.htm
