To describe a character or person, write a poem that includes: 1. First name. 2. 3-4 adjectives that describe the person. 3. Three feelings the person experienced. 4. Three fears the person experienced. 5. Accomplishments. 6. 2-3 things the person wanted to see happen or experience. 7. His or her residence. 8. Last name.

I can see this being modified for an event and changing the questions a bit for it to make sense for that purpose.

Students summarize what was learned in the lesson using 140 characters or less. Pin small strips of paper to a poster that resembles a twitter feed. I would leave it up for the whole time the theme/topic is being taught, that way they can see all the information they've learned on the topic.
