The school system is divided into three levels ; elementary school , middle school and high school. Recently, the most of children go to nursery school when they are about 5-6. Later they start elementary school. Then children go to middle school. At the end of 8th grade , students take an exam. And they choose a high school with results. So , they go to high school or private schools. Again at the end of the year , students take exams , if they want to go to a university. (By the way yes, I am using ‘exam’ word so much. In this topic -Turkey Education- it is necessary )Also whole life of the education in Turkey , there are lots of exams and students have to take all of them. Furthermore , there are lots of lessons.Even children , who are 7-10 , have to take exams. In Turkey , the most important thing looks like ‘take exams’ , instruction is hard and it’s really busy until university. Actually it continues to be hard even in university. So in Turkey , if you wanna get a job -in here nobody is sure about that they will have a job- you have to study hard. Unfortunately, university exams include questions which are for professionals. Anyway, I have to study ,too. Goodbye.

There is non-compulsory preschool education in the education system in Turkey. There is no obligation, but the state and related institutions encourage pre-school education.

Then we go to primary school. A simple curriculum is shown during this 4-year training period. Children learn to read, write and add and subtract. In primary school elections, students are sent to the school closest to their homes and the curriculum is audio-visual.

Then we goes to secondary school. In secondary school, an education lasting 4 years is seen. This education is more difficult than in primary school and it is based on logical lessons. Students slowly choose the chapter they want to study. After 4 years, we take the exam, which used to be called SBS and TEOG, and now LGS.

Going to high school is based on the score obtained in LGS. There are 4 years of education. If we get a good score, we go to the schools selected as "qualified". If we don’t get a good score, we go to one of the schools close to our home, where our grade point averages in secondary school are sufficient. Education in high school now changes according to the field of profession we will choose. It consists of numerical, verbal, equal weight and language sections. The student enters the desired section.

University is chosen according to the score they get in the exams held at the end of high school. There are two exams as TYT and AYT. If we fail in these exams in the first year, we can wait a year and re-enter. The university now provides education only for the selected department. And the duration of the training varies according to the selected department. For example, if we choose to study teaching, we will study for 4 years, if we choose to study medicine, we will study for 6 years. And at the end of university, our education life ends.
