I chose this idea because MTSS is a framework that many schools use to provide targeted support to struggling students.  It focuses on the “whole child.” MTSS supports academic growth and achievement, but it also supports many other areas. This includes behavior, social, emotional needs and this all begins with the teacher.  Teachers are in the frontline and play a big role in identifying those students who are struggling and need help.  Teachers also play a big role by working with their students to help and support them through their programs to achieve their goals.

This sentence stood out to me most because of its incredible precedent in light of  challenging and ever changing current affairs in our society. Whether it is distance learning to families struggling with unemployment/working and homeschooling their children to every individual who has their personal needs and wants - research-based positive behavioral supports should be held on a pedestal to rehabilitate a healthy school ecosystem. Teachers, students, and their families are all part of a school community that must work together to make the most out of students' learning experiences. Student’s may not notice exactly how administrative staff and teachers work together to implement positive behavioral supports in classrooms to where they will bring those positive outcomes to their own homes. When teachers effectively maintain open communication about how they will bring out the best in their students' personalities then they will thrive socially which will lead to positive learning outcomes. Building the social efficacy of students first and foremost is important for families to understand so that no unknown stressors in learning emerge.
