E. coli is found in the intestines of humans normally, but if a person has poor hygiene or in a woman's case does not wipe front to back she can spread E. coli to her vagina thus causing the spread of E. coli. E. coli will then cause her to have a urine infection and will require treatment of antibiotics. Symptoms of the urinary tract infection are dysuria, frequency, urgency and foul smelling urine.
