Below are the types of places I want to work in the future, and hopefully, I will have my own clinic someday. The consultation room is supposed to be very comfortable and peaceful. I want to make my clients feel safe. And the reception area also needs to be clean and bright.

I chose psychology as my major because I’ve always wanted to be a psychological consultant. Growing up, I’ve seen a lot of people who might have mental problems that they don’t even realize themselves. they don’t know they need to ask for help and most of them are ashamed to. I want to spread the idea that it is not shameful to admit you are in trouble and need help from professionals. So that’s basically why I want to be a psychological consultant.

How should I achieve my goal? I’ve been wondering this question since I started studying this major. I believe currently what I can do is try to absorb everything from the class and study as much as real-life cases as possible, hoping to have more experience for various types of issues.

My plan is to work at clinic run by others for at least 3 years, learning my experienced consultant and then consider opening up my own one. I believe with my academic performance and my endless enthusiasm for this area, I could achieve my goal in 5 years from now, being a professional psychological consultant.
