I will introduce the new PBO and deliver the information presented in the file on the introduction page.&nbsp;<br><br>Once finished, I will check for understanding using two scenarios for the students to break down. The reading is 30 mins long, so it will be split into two 15-minute readings, played today and tomorrow.<br><br>After the first half of the story is read, the class will be tasked with starting on the NOTICE which assesses the 5w's of a story: the Who, What, When, Where, and Why. A BrainPOP file/paper will be given. For those absent, simply writing it on paper will suffice.</div>]]></description>

We will analyze the setting, the conflicts, the plot, and how they all interact with one another.<br><br>The following portions of the text will be analyzed: paragraphs 1-7, 16-18, 70, and 82-90.&nbsp;<br><br>1-7 will analyze the setting.<br>16-18 will analyze the internal and external conflicts<br>70 will analyze again the internal and external conflicts.<br>82-90 will analyze the plot events in the story.<br><br>There will be 3 tasks per portion: ANNOTATIONS, QUESTIONS, and CONCLUSIONS. With this worksheet, we will analyze the text more closely, answering more specific questions, studying the interactions between the story elements, and practicing critical thinking. <br><br>Questions 1-4 will be done in class while number 5 will be done for homework and turned in <strong><em>separately. </em></strong>The file will save and open as a Word document. With Word documents, you may have to "enable editing" to begin typing on it<strong><em>. Remember to save your edits before exiting the window and uploading the document. </em></strong>If you would like to save the file as a PDF, simply go to "save as", click the box under the file naming section, and scroll down to PDF.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Every night that homework is assigned, it will be due by 8:20 a.m. (five minutes before the beginning of first period) the next morning. Students are to get to homeroom as quickly as possible so that they have ample time to sit down, get settled, and turn in their homework to CANVAS before their homeroom teacher begins instruction.<br><br>Late submissions will be accepted; however, 10 points will be taken as a late penalty from their overall grade.&nbsp;There will be no makeup for homework! Once 3:30 arrives, the opportunity to turn in the assignment will be revoked, and a 0 will go inside the gradebook.</div>]]></description>
