Therefore, we should aspire to be strategic leaders. Appreciative Inquiry is a technique in leadership that engages all stakeholders in reinforcing positive messages and focuses on learning (Daft, 2014, p. 434). It is mostly used in the change process and helps in communicating the vision of the company. I engage all stakeholders on the importance of a friendly working environment that allows honesty, compassion, growth, and positivity. I will interview them on what a friendly working environment means to them; then I will design my goals according to their feedback.

I will learn the key strengths in regards to knowledge and thoughts on the goals. I will make them to feel a part of the process by allowing them to provide recommendations and set goals on some key issues. Personalizing the approach creates a friendlier working environment and achieves other leadership goals. A change in communication is also an important strategy (Adeniyi, 2007, P.89). In leadership process, I will create a friendly working environment by moving from vertical communication to one-on-one interaction where there is no hierarchy, so that communication will be free and without titles.

Inspiring people of a better future in a friendly working environment and a possibility in achieving their full potentials is critical to the success of my vision. I will create a picture on why I am undertaking the project and how the vision will influence and impact them. My other strategy will be celebrating small and big wins. To keep the momentum, it is important that people see the results of their efforts. Specifically, I will set short-term goals and a visible standard that will recognize their achievements (Daft, 2014, p. 440).  The celebration of these wins boosts the credibility of the process and creates confidence in the capabilities of people.
