         <description><![CDATA[<div>Strategic leadership is the leadership that anticipates, envisions, and maintains the flexibility that will create a competitive advantage for the company (Daft, 2014, p. 390).  In leadership, a vision gives a sense of purpose, direction and is an inspiration. In the exact word of the churchyard saying, “Life without vision is drudgery. Vision without action is but an empty dream. Action guided by vision is joy and the hope of the earth” (Daft, 2014, p. 394). Strategic leadership is responsible for the vision, mission, strategy, and their implementation. Therefore, we should aspire to be strategic leaders. This storyboard will focus on my vision as a leader, goals and give a detailed action plan and anticipated outcomes of the strategies.</div>]]></description>

To enable people to work and live better,  my first goal will be the creation of a loving and healthy working environment that allows people to express themselves fully and to desire to serve others. Once a friendly and compassionate working environment is created, I will focus on building their capacities. Better days are characterized by days when we achieve our potentials. Therefore, my second goal will be developing the greatest capacity of those around me so as to make the best use of everyone’s advantages.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In achieving my first goal of creating a friendly working environment, I will use the common approach through Appreciative Inquiry as the first step. Appreciative Inquiry is a technique in leadership that engages all stakeholders in reinforcing positive messages and focuses on learning (Daft, 2014, p. 434). It is mostly used in the change process and helps in communicating the vision of the company. I engage all stakeholders on the importance of a friendly working environment that allows honesty, compassion, growth, and positivity. I will interview them on what a friendly working environment means to them; then I will design my goals according to their feedback.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Secondly, I will use Appreciative Inquiry that focuses on personalization. I will learn the key strengths in regards to knowledge and thoughts on the goals. I will make them to feel a part of the process by allowing them to provide recommendations and set goals on some key issues. Personalizing the approach creates a friendlier working environment and achieves other leadership goals. A change in communication is also an important strategy (Adeniyi, 2007, P.89). In leadership process, I will create a friendly working environment by moving from vertical communication to one-on-one interaction where there is no hierarchy, so that communication will be free and without titles.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the second goal of developing capacities of the stakeholders, my first strategy will be painting a compelling picture, which is a strategy that cuts across both goals. Inspiring people of a better future in a friendly working environment and a possibility in achieving their full potentials is critical to the success of my vision. I will create a picture on why I am undertaking the project and how the vision will influence and impact them. My other strategy will be celebrating small and big wins. To keep the momentum, it is important that people see the results of their efforts. Specifically, I will set short-term goals and a visible standard that will recognize their achievements (Daft, 2014, p. 440).  The celebration of these wins boosts the credibility of the process and creates confidence in the capabilities of people.<br><br></div>]]></description>
