These have been the best transport alternatives (e.g., long-tailed Remorks, 3-wheelers, commuter trucks) for low-income individuals (factory workers) to daily commute to/from workplaces in Cambodia. They are low-cost and informal transport services, operated each day to serve thousands of workers, who continue to risk their lives on roads to make a living and support their families. To gain sufficient revenue, drivers modified the siting arrangement in order to maximize transport capacity. Typical long-tailed Remork (i.e., long 2-wheeled carriage pulled by a motorcycle, 1.8 m x 4.8m) could carry 20-45 passengers at a time and charges approximately 13.7 USD per month.

Winding its way through the Puchong vicinity, this LRT line hosts stations strategically situated for commuter convenience. More than just an alternative, the LRT line introduces affordability and environmental conscientiousness, distinguishing it from the LDP Expressway.

Located in Vietnam, the Han River Bridge is the first ever cable-swayed bridge in Da Nang. More remarkably, it was designed by Vietnamese architects and constructed with the help of local people. One interesting fact about the Han River Bridge is its rotation at midnight. Specifically, at 1 am every day, the centre of the bridge will rotate 90 degrees around its axis and remain along the river flow for the next 2.5 hours until about 3.30 am, when it eventually returns to the initial position. The purpose of this rotating activity is to prepare a clear way for large ships to pass through. Therefore, vehicles will not be able to cross the Han River Bridge during this period. This picture beautifully captures the Han River Bridge while the sun sets.

Transportation is often seen as a colossal network of impressive infrastructure, modern vehicles, or sophisticated mass transit that connects the bustling arteries of a metropolis. Yet, beyond the bustling roadways, there exists an unseen world of traditional transport systems that not only serve the urban dwellers but also reach deep into the slum communities and laborers' lives. This photograph was captured in a lesser-known corner of a metropolitan city, nestled alongside the majestic Musi River in southern Sumatra. This river, one of Indonesia's longest, flows from the rugged Barisan Mountains in Bengkulu Province to the Bangka Strait, an extension of the South China Sea. Here, the pulse of traditional logistics comes alive, as small ships laden with goods are borne by the strength of human shoulders, transporting vegetables, fruits, and various wares to the nearby markets. This time-honored system, rooted in the use of modest vessels, has persevered through the ages, sustaining communities' needs.

As can be seen from the fact that the unit "PS" for automobile engine output means "horse power" in German, horses have brought about a great evolution to mankind, whose primary means of transportation used to be on foot. The encounter with the horse enabled mankind to travel fast over large distances and to transport large quantities of heavy loads. It is no exaggeration to say that horses have played a leading role in the evolution of transportation.

It has featured in movies of different languages and regions. Tourists from around the world visit the attraction to witness the beauty of the island from what seems like the top of the world.
Like most cable cars, the Langkawi 'skycab' is majorly appreciated for its recreational value. However, it is primarily a mode of mobility which transfers the passengers through a vertical rise of 680m and a horizontal distance of 2079m in a matter of minutes - all of this, with minimal excavations, cutting and filling of ground, or deforestation in the sensitive hilly terrain. The transportation of tomorrow needs such solutions to become a part of routine mobility options. An innovation in the cable car system to make it safer and more efficient can prove to be a game changer for sustainable mobility in hilly terrain!
