Wegenerś hypothesis of continental drift was that once the earth was one huge landmass, and over the years they moved because of the reason that the same fossils were found in different border continents that did not have the same climate of each other. Another reason, was that the Arctic Ocean has fossils of tropical plants. One more piece of evidence that Wegener stated was that he found scratches on rocks in South Africa that were made by glaciers, these scratches showed that mild climate of South Africa was once cold enough to form glaciers this was called climate change.
