This is my second time reading this book, and the reason is because I wanted to read a book I knew was good, and I forgot what happened since it has been a while since I have read it. It was only around 240 pages, so it was perfect for me to bring on my trip. I really recommend this book if you like a mix of mystery and sci-fi and are looking for a quick read.

If you're into thrilling philosophical sci-fi novels with great world building and characters then Dune is a great choice. The spice of the great sandworms on the desert planet Arrakis shows the ecological accuracy while frankly everything else makes you actually feel like this could happen in the future. The novel has been made into countless memorable movies including Dune(2021) and Dune 2(2024) by Denis Villeneuve both of which I would definitely recommend.

When We Had Wings is a historical fiction novel by Susan Meissner, Ariel Lawhon, and Kristina McMorris. It follows the lives of three Army and Navy nurses and their experiences in World War Two. Through hardship and pain, the only thing that kept them going was the friendships they had forged with each other at the start of the war.

Josie wants to leave New Orleans and go to college, but her mother is rooting her to the spot. This is a great coming-of-age story about a girl who wants to create a better future for herself.

Speak, a novel by Laurie Halse Anderson, who also wrote Chains and Fever 1796, is a great read. It's about a girl who starts freshmen year with no friends after an incident at the end-of-summer party the year before. Anderson slowly reveals details about the party throughout the book, creating a very engaging novel. You're going to want to wait till the end to see what really happened.

Once upon a Broken heart is a Fantasy book by Stephanie Garber. This book is about being so heart broken you'd kill, but when you find the consequences in your actions you know you cant go back. Its about a girl named Evengeline who's sister got engaged to her "one true love" and she wants to stop their wedding so she can live happily ever after, little did she know her life was about to turn into a nightmare, when she approaches the prince of heart to win her true love back. This story start and ends tragically, I cant wait to read the second book and I hope that if you read this book you'll enjoy it just as much as I did.

This is a great novel about a girl named Idunn, for a couple weeks Idunn had been feeling constant fatigue and soreness in her body. When she went to the doctor they just put her on endless pills and did some blood tests that didn't reveal any cause. She starts waking up with injuries and starts to wonder what she does in her sleep. This is a great read especially if you like suspense. It also made me really scared when I was reading it at night.

The Hobbit is a classic that I should have read a while ago, but I finally got around to it and it was a really good book. It follows the story of Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit who leaves home to go on an adventure with a group of dwarves and a wizard to reclaim their old home and a load of treasure from the dragon Smaug. I liked it, but people who prefer more modern books with casual language might struggle with this book. It uses more old English words and has some pretty complicated sections. Overall: 8.5/10

The family is thrown to every corner of the world, all trying to escape the brutality and injustice that World War Two holds for them. Hunter's writing style is really elaborate and the plot is so compelling I could've read it in one sitting. I definitely recommend it if you're interested in World War Two historical fiction, because this is one of the best ones I've ever read.

The story is about a young teenager who, at the beginning of the series, chooses a different faction where she will spend the rest of her life. Along the way she meets people who she will set on many adventures with.

If you like The Hunger Games I would highly recommend this series.
