China and stuffs

Every summer, my mom, dad, littlebrother, and I. All travel to China. Partly to go on vacation, but mostly to reconnect with our family and visit them.

After arriving the day after school ended, my little brother and I lived in the city of 秦皇岛(qin huang dao) with our grandparents for a week. There we played some badminton and I did some English tutoring for cash. Pretty sweet.

After that whole debacle, we joined our Chinese school in a summercamp, and we were taught how our Chinese heritage was important.

then we went and lived in Beijing for a week. then we went home, kissed the darn soil when we got back. and that's pretty much it.

probably.

Anyway, we spent most of our time on a busy schedule and in schmancy hotels.

everyone met at the airport in 南宁. And so the "adventure" began.

温州 was where we ended it.

Culture

Most of this is me being in awe over how awesome chinese culture can be.

As part of travelling around China and being basic tourists, we got to work together with kids our age and learn some Chinese skills and culture.

I couldn't do it justice if I tried. these kids were amazing!


playing 古筝 like nobody's business

then there were the martial arts kids.
just sayin' none of us would stand a chance. they were 🤬-floppin' hip-hoppin' ALL AROUND THE PLACE. Whilst looking so graceful and deadly at the same time. All I could do was sit there with my jaw on the floor and clapping until my hands hurt afterwards.

my little brother ordered a drink that tasted exactly of grass. We later learned that it was made of blended grass. lovely.

We tried a lot of chinese delicacies. even made some ourselves. Chinese cuisine holds some of the most delicious and weirdest dishes out there. Don't be afraid of getting something new though. Chances are, it will be absolutely DIVINE.
