I thought you did a great job at summarizing the first 6 chapters. You explain that the horse was first named Darkie. Then, you explained who Rob Roy was. I think this important because, it made sense to Black Beauty why his mother was so upset when the horse (his brother) had died. Finally, I liked how you explained each detail a bit from each chapter.

I think if Black Beauty wasn't sold, maybe his name would still be Darkie and not Black Beauty. If he would not have been sold, he might have been able to work with his mother instead.

What if Black Beauty's mother never told him to kick or bite? I think maybe he may have bit or kicked while he was being broke in. In the book it said that he never felt like biting or kicking more than when he was being broke in. It hurt him to wear the gear he did and took time to get used to it. He remembered his mother's advice though.

If Black Beauty's first master had not been kind, he may not be as well-tempered as he is. For example, Ginger did not have a nice master and shows more poor behavior, like kicking and biting, because of how she was treated. Black Beauty may have also done the same out of fear or anger if that had been his experience.

I love Emmy Jenkin's summery she explained how there was a hunt for a hare and a horse named Rob Roy and a man named Gordan and are both killed. when Darkie is 4 and is sold to a farm where his name changes to Black Beauty then he finds out Rob Roy was his brother and he makes new friends at the farm.
