From : Jerry.JerryTravel@commcoll.ed

Hey Lisa, Exciting news! Heard you're curious about visiting my country and checking out our historical landmarks. As a fellow architectural enthusiast and a lifelong resident of Yangon, I'm fairly confident that Yangon may just be a perfect escort to the treasure trove that'll make your short stay an exciting adventure!

Here in downtown Yangon, it's an urban designer's dream. The streets are packed with colonial buildings and a mix of diverse ethnic groups, especially in vibrant lively Pansoedan in streets. Step into downtown Yangon, and you'll have a feel of the past, wandering around a timeless city contrary to major cities offering a much more modern approach to tourism.

Make sure not to miss out on the National Museum as it is a cultural spot, as it unveils the evolution of our language through art and history. Souvenirs are best bought if u dive into the market of Bogyoke as puppets, traditional artworks, or clothing hanging everywhere above throughout the stores inside.

Lastly, check out the Secretariat, once known as the minister's office, despite its grim past, It's now a serene spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and rethink of stillness of this nation, Or better yet by going up the stairs you may explore the undiscovered history of the memorial and attempts to restore the independence of this nation. Can't wait to show you around our architectural wonders! Cheers,

Your friend Jerry

I've read the e-mail about your plan to visit to my country. I'm thrilled to hear it! Finally, we can meet up in person and hang out together. We should go to Shwe Dagon Pagoda first. It's the golden signature of Yangon so it's a must. Yangon has loads of places to go out. And I cannot wait for you to try our street foods. They are super delicious! There's a place called Hledan, where full of clothing shops, delicious foods, supermarket and mall. I'm sure you'll love it. Furthermore, there're Junction Square, Junction City, Time City, lots of malls that you can have fun. But if you are looking for places like ancient culture things, I suggest visiting to Bagan. It's got thousands of ancient pagodas. You can get to know well about Burmese culture. And the sceneries and the sun-rise, sun-set will take your breath away, I promise. If you decide to go there, you are making a right choice. But you don't want neither culture things nor city things, there're always amazing beaches to take a break from the world. Personally, I think Myeik is the best. But there're lots of beaches like Chaung Thar, Ngwesaung, Ngapali and so on. You can just pick one and relax. But whatever you choose you are making great decision. Make sure to come visit here and enjoy! Important thing, do not forget to try our street foods. You might end up living here who knows.

Your Buddy,

Thaung

Subject: Something about Burma before you move to Burma

Date: October 3rd, 2023

Dear Josh,

Well, I hope that you are having a good time. I want to give you some advice before you move to Burma, the place where I was born and raised. I really want you to know that Burma is nothing like Thailand, although we have things in common.

Burma is quite diverse, apart from Burmese we have Shan, Rakhine, Indian, Chinese, and others over 135 ethnicities. Major cities in Burma are Rangoon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw. Burma is known for its temples and diversity, but we will not talk about the 2017 genocide. We have a Buddhist temple, Hindu temple, Chinese temple, Mosque, and Synagogue within a kilometer, which means that you do not have to worry about discrimination as a Jewish in Burma. We have some issues like any other country, but they are not as bad as seen in the news, you better check your back if you are on the YBS.

To be honest, this email is all about making you feel much better about moving to SEA. As you know SEA is a place where Jewish is quite rare, but you do not have to worry about discrimination in Burma as a Jewish. I hope we can have some tea before you leave.

																                                               Best regards,

																                                                     Graham

I hope you're doing well. For me, I'm struggling with my new class but don't worry I will handle it somehow. I always wanted to tell you about my country, Myanmar. But I don't know where to start and what to say and I don't know much about other cities. So I decided to tell you about my hometown. It's a small countryside town in the middle of Myanmar. I have lived there since I was born. It's such a peaceful place to live. There's no interesting place to go like big cuties but I enjoy living here, of course I do cus this is my hometown duhh. The town is near the Sittaung river which is one of the major river in Myanmar. There's no supermarket or mall here only a local market. You can find anything you want, there's fresh vegetables, meat and fish. Do you know what the best part is? In here you can see a very beautiful sunrise every morning. The big mountain from the east and the river and the sunrise is such a beautiful combination.

But anyway that's all I can describe about my hometown. Talk to you later.

Hendrix.
