Techniques: Gino used oil paints and canvas as materials. His technique was representation of movement and speed, dynamism and energy, superimposed forms.

Artistic Career: Matisse began painting at a relatively late age after an illness that left him convalescing. He studied art in Paris and developed a distinctive style that evolved throughout his career.

Fauvism: He was one of the main exponents of Fauvism, an artistic movement characterized by the bold and expressive use of color. The Fauves, including Matisse, sought to free color from its representative function and use it in an emotional and expressive way.

Most recognized works: "The dance", "The red studio", "The joy of life", among other.

Techniques:

Henri Matisse employed various techniques throughout his artistic career, adapting and experimenting with different media to explore his aesthetic vision.

Oil Painting: Matisse began his career primarily as an oil painter. In his early years, his style was more traditional, but over time he developed a freer and more expressive approach, especially during his Fauvist period. He used bold brushstrokes and intense colors to convey emotions and sensations.

Fauvism: As one of the leaders of the Fauvist movement, Matisse explored a technique in which color was freed from its purely representational function. He used vibrant and contrasting colors, applied flatly and without gradual shading, seeking to visually and emotionally impact the viewer.

In our opinion, we chose this work because of the innovative techniques and materials Picasso employed, as well as the profound impact it had on the art world.

Techniques and Materials:bPicasso used oil paints on canvas. His technique involved the fragmentation and reassembly of objects, often incorporating geometric shapes and multiple perspectives within a single plane. This approach was fundamental in depicting the complexity of forms and the essence of objects in a new, abstract manner, characteristic of the Cubist movement.

José Victoriano González-Pérez, better known as Juan Gris, was a Spanish painter and illustrator who developed his activity mainly in Paris.

Artistic movement: Cubism

Birth: March 23, 1887, Madrid, Spain.

Died: May 11, 1927, Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

The author's technique is: Unlike Braque and Picasso, Gris never completely used a neutral palette, always opting for color. His compositional system, derived from the collage technique, is based, at the time of his maturity, on series of overlapping triangular, vertical and horizontal planes.

Surrealism

He was born on May 11/1904, (Figueras, Spain) and died on January 23/ 1989, (Figueras).

Was a Spanish Surrealist painter and printmaker, influential for his explorations of subconscious imagery.

Dali painting style matured with extraordinary rapidity, and from 1929 to 1937 he produced the paintings which made him the world’s best-known Surrealist artist.

Some of his best art works are: The Persistence of Memory (1931), Swans reflecting elephants (1937), Spider of the Evening (1940), The Temptation of Saint Anthony (1946), The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory (1954).

Some techniques of Dali are: Paranoiac-Critical Method, Hyperrealism, Double Images and Optical Illusion, Symbolism, Dream Imagery and Photographic Precision.

We chose the work “Dessert” by Salvador because it’s bizarre and surreal character immediately captures attention and arouses.

We chose the work because we were struck by how he uses colors to create it, and the importance it gives to green.

The technique used in the work is oil on canvas.

Carlo Carrà used various techniques throughout his career:

1. Divisionism: Early use of dots and strokes to blend colors.

2. Futurism: Dynamic compositions with bold colors and fragmented forms to depict motion and modernity.

Relevant information: Hannah Höch was one of the Dada artists who worked on the photomontage technique with plastic intentions. She was also an important activist for women's rights, continually denouncing a sexist and misogynistic society.

Relevant information: He was able to paint many different styles, even within the same painting. He created more than 6,000 works in a long career.

Technique: His technique was with shorter and faster brush strokes, using colors directly from the tube.

Our opinion of the painting: we chose this work for its style and for the striking and vivid colors.

Georges was born on 05/13/1882 in France and died on 08/31/1963 in France.

His best-known work was "Houses in L'Estaque" which was created in 1908 and was done with the oil on canvas technique.

We chose this work because the shapes and its style of painting caught our attention and we found it very beautiful due to its particularity.
