The book shows how kids develop when they are put in an adult situation - it showcases the age of responsibility and lost meaning of age due to circumstance.
The PDF practically just gives statistics and studies on crime reports with adolescence. We connect that to the article, because that article addresses the question of whether age or not age should be considered when determining punishment. If a child commits an adult crime, are they tried as an adult or for their age?
