Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in a log cabin in Kentucky.  As a child he was educated by reading himself books and when he became an adult, he opened an office in Springfield Illinois.

Lawyer ran for senator, and the debates that he did made him famous.  Abraham Lincoln believed
That secession was legal, and he thought that he had to keep it together.  In 1861 everybody was
verbally and physically rude to each other which then turned into a bloodbath, 4 more states left
the union when the civil war begun in 1863.

give a speech in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.  Around 50,000 people were hurt or dead both from
the north and the south.  Lincoln ran for president again for term two and was elected in 1865, 
the south wasn’t fighting anymore and that’s when the civil war ended.

to where Abraham Lincoln was sitting with Mary Todd the president’s box and shot Lincoln in the
head and died later the next morning in 1865.
