For instance, provocative and accusing words are used such as “freakish figure” or “surgically altered appearance.” In fact, Michael Jackson had a disease called vitiligo, which made his skin whiter, and in a 2003 documentary with Martin Bashir, Michael confessed that he only had a nose surgery. Therefore, this article is provocative and has some intentions to show Michael Jackson from a negative side.

When it comes to photo choices, In MRP NEWS they showed one provocative picture which was taken during child molestation trial, which is not a respectful picture to post after someone’s death. By looking at this picture, we can see that the author is focused on emotions and sensationalism rather than giving facts.  Regarding quotations, they have quoted an ordinary Jackson’s fan from a tweet who said “No joke. King of pop is no more.” 

And the target audience for this story are fans of Michael Jackson and ordinary people who loved some of his songs.

Unlike MPR news, BBC news posted a picture of a smiling Jackson without trying to show him in a negative way. BBC news quoted Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine Jackson who said, “And Allah be with you Michael, always. I love you.” They also quoted some specific famous people such as a broadcaster Paul Gambaccini and Sir Paul McCartney as well as the chief of US Weekly magazine Melanie Bromley. They are quoted from interviews. And the target audience are also Michael Jackson’s fans and ordinary people who loved some of his songs.
