With less to sell, they raised their prices to keep profit; which made Romans buy less, and their coins less valuable. To counteract this, the Roman government produced more coins, with less material value, because they eventually ran out of silver and gold. Which eventually caused Rome to resort to a primitive barter system, ultimately destroying the economy, and so on, so on,
