(a) Yes. Travelling is one of my favourite things to do. Although as a student I do not have the liberty to go out out of the country at any time, I feel that travelling has not only allowed me to destress but also feel free from worries because I would be too occupied with new things that I would be find in any country that I would be going to. Furthermore, an activity like travelling has a atmosphere of wonder and serenity that one can experience.
(b) I had went abroad to Shanghai in China as an exchange programme two years ago through the school. It was definitely a new experience because my family and I would fall back to going back to our relative's country for another family meeting. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed myself due to very fun company and different people I met during this trip. For example, we had visited multiple schools and interacted with the students by sitting through their classes and asking them questions despite the language barrier. They practice eye exercises everyday and have breaks in between lessons too resulting them in ending school on a later timing compared to us. All in all, that journey was also an eye opener to me as it was a new experience.
(c) I do believe in the "work hard, play hard" motto. I feel that I do not agree that we work too hard because it differs person to person. For example, one man could work diligently for a month until he finishes a project so that he can finally take a break. While another could work on and off for a year to finally treat himself and both of these instances is satisfactory for the people. Hence, going on holidays depends on us whether if we deserve it or not.

(a) I feel the two women are feeling very delighted to be part of the exchange programme. I feel I was put in the shoes of the two women through this video because it was a new experience for them.
(b) Yes, definitely. Despite the cultural differences, I am very eager to learn abroad and also experience new cultures that I might not experience in my own country. Exchange programmes are extremely fun and an eye opener. The last time I had such an exchange would be two years ago when I had traveled to Shanghai with a group of people on the behalf of the whole school. The whole experience was scary at first but I also learnt a lot of values when I stepped out of my comfort zone. Thus, exchange programmes are definitely a new experience and I would enjoy myself throughout the trip.
(c) I would agree to a certain extent because it depends whether if we want to understand the locals compared to if we want to only understand the culture. As a reference to the video where the person had gone to South Korea for an exchange programme. In South Korea there are many provinces and many dialects that emerge from the provinces. If one would want to understand the way they speak and connect with the people of South Korea, I believe that one should go to the country itself. There is only so much one can learn online but visiting the country itself is a magical and memorable journey. Including the food. On the other hand, if one only wishes to skim through the surface of learning the culture, I do not find it necessary to travel all the way to a specific country. Hence, it depends on what one wants to achieve.

1) i would not find it relaxing. The video shows people on a holiday to Dhaka. In Dhaka, a city area, it’s very crowded and there are a lot of water surrounding that country. In addition it is going to be very hot. I would feel uncomfortable, not relaxing as people would be squeezing through to get to places.

2) A school trip that i have enjoyed was the trip to indonesia with my primary school when i was primary 4. One activity i have enjoyed from this trip was none other than the rice planting. Rice planting was fun with the friends i’ve made from the other classes, and that we have to get into the mud to plant the rice, after planting rice we went on to catch fish in the mud. Since we were young, we made the fish kiss by putting their mouths together. Another activity that i have enjoyed from this was getting the view of an active volcano there. Even though i kept sneezing because i had a mild allergy to the dust. I still enjoyed climbing up to see the volcano, it was indeed an eye opener then as that was my first time seeing an actual volcano.

3) i agree that we work too hard and do not take holidays. Singapore is a first world country, if course living in Singapore there would be stress. Most Singaporeans may be workaholics. There are a lot of disadvantages into going on holidays. Firstly, going on a holiday, you will need disposable income, even thou Singaporeans disposable income have been increasing, most of them would spend it on things they would rather spend on than on a holiday. Secondly, going on a holiday, one would have to plan. Planing is something very troublesome. In addition, if one doesn’t plan, he will waste a lot of time. The last disadvantage is packing, packing one’s clothes into a suitcase takes forever. In addition, if one forgets to pack something, it will be super frustrating and troublesome. So i agree that we work too hard and we do not take enough holidays but we sure take breaks.

(a) I do not think that the activity in the video would be relaxing at all. Although the country of Dhaka seems as though it is teeming with life and bustling crowds, the environment as I have observed from the video is loud and rather polluted. The man in the video goes around exploring and sight-seeing around Dhaka. I would not find this activity relaxing and on the contrary, tiring and stressful. As someone who prefers to dwell in quiet places and alone time, I think that this activity is certainly not my cup of tea.
(b) A few years ago, when I was Primary 5, I went on a trip with my family to Europe. I was extremely excited to embark on that trip as I had never traveled beyond the boundaries of Asia prior to that moment. The holiday was about 10 days and we went to many unique places. Netherlands, Brussels, Paris , Zurich and Amsterdam were some of the places we ventured to. I got to learn more about the way of life that the people led and their cultures. My favourite part of the trip went we visited the Louvre Museum in Paris. As someone who was truly fascinated by the Arts, I was over the moon when I got to observe famous works like the Mona Lisa and Venus De Milo in person. All in all, that particular trip to Europe was definitely an enriching one and one that holds a special place in my heart.
(c) I agree with this statement. It is a well-known fact that many Singaporeans, be it young or old, have a tendency to over-work themselves. I find that we simply cannot grasp the saying 'All work, no play, makes Jack a dull boy'. Over these past few years, I have observed that when I take public transport, many student commuters bury their faces in notes and textbooks, in an attempt to cram in as much information as possible. I think that we often dismiss that fact that it is not of much use when we do not work effectively. Thus, this leads us to believe that if we work harder and harder with no breaks in between, we are ultimately achieving more than those who do not. However, this is not at all true most of the time. Hence, I think that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays.

(a) I feel like they are very enthusiastic because I could feel their energy through the video and also through facial expressions. I could observe that the boy on the extreme right was off at some points of the video. This also made me think that team coordination while having a team dance requires a lot of body coordination and synchronisation.
(b) I have actually tried numerous ways to stay fit and healthy, however, I feel the simplest way to keep fit is to be active in little ways. For example, instead of taking the lift, one can use the stairs instead. Another instance would be doing chores around the house, and it is a win win situation where you not only help your parents but also sweat it out and keep your metabolism high. Hence, I feel that doing little things might take a long time but all these will accumulate and help us in the future.
(c) I believe that there should be a balance between the two. One instance would be after playing games for a period of time, one should go for a walk or run so that they do not sit around for a long time. Another reason would be, if they are unwilling to do so, they can adjust their diet instead to eat healthier food. This might tend to both needs of a person- entertainment and health.

1) i think the family in the video might continue spending the time to bond together in the groove yard event. They might continue to play games with their child with the different booth the event has to offer. Or they might head to a snack booth again as after playing for so long, the family might be hungry and wants to grab a bite before having to play with their child at another booth.

2) A family event that i have attended would be the evening at Uncle Ringo. Uncle Ringo is a mini carnival.
My father has gotten a card to play at this carnival, my family and I had a lot of fun that evening even though it was only for a short 3 hours. I thought it passed by too quickly. We had played the pirate ship, the milk in the can and lastly the bouncing castle that i was forced to get on as my brother was too young to go by himself back then. We were super hungry after the play and had a pizza for supper, i ended up taking two while my brother ended up taking one and a half, it was truly an amazing family event.

3) I agree that we do not spend enough time doing things with our family. Firstly, Singaporeans have a hectic lifestyle that we only care about finishing work.
My father have always work till 8 and when he comes back he goes straight into bed while i would be doing my homework or revision. But i do not blame him because economy is not doing very well nowadays. Secondly, we have a mobile phone. Most of the time children like us would prefer going online to chat with our friends or spend the time on gaming. Resulting in us spending time on our phones more than we spend with our family members during the weekends. We do not spend enough time but we still spend some time together with my family. For example i would tell them to finish every work before evening so that we could watch an online movie at home. I would always take initiative because i believe that no one else would ask my father to put down his work aside.

a) Relaxing?! From what the video has shown me, Dhaka does not seem to be a very bright place. Firstly, it is mentioned that this place ( Dhaka ) is densely populated thus having a problem with overpopulation. I oppose of the idea of too crowded places and also from the looks of the place, it does not seem appealing to one's sight. It seems like a very run-down place. It is also mentioned that this place ( Dhaka ) is suffering from the challenges of climate change that its land is being sunk. Isn't that such a terrifying thing? I would certainly be too afraid if the place I am trying to enjoy my holiday at ends up sinking. Lastly, it is also shown in the video that 'why one has to be dressed up as a women sometimes' to keep one safe I supposed with men beside him with a rifle gun and a pistol? This image/scene can connote that this place is dangerous and why would I want to be in danger when I am trying to enjoy my holiday? No way, I would be too anxious and afraid if I was there. Thus, I will absolutely not find this activity relaxing or even enjoyable. I don't think I even want to attend to this activity. So many negative things could be said about this place.

b) Last year in October to November, I went on an overseas school trip to Beijing, China. It was with the purpose of learning more about art. I can remember the freezing state that everyone was in and needing to wear more layer as the days go by and become colder. We went to multiple of museums and my favourite has to be that art street. We were assigned a sketchbook each to draw or write about the places we've been to. I have seen many beautiful relics as well and even got to climb the Great Wall of China. Okay let me elaborate more on my favourite place which was the art street. There were a lot of graffiti on the walls that were very vibrant and eye-catching. I went with my group with Athena and clung onto her as I find her to be a very experienced and knowledgeable person when it comes to art. Okay- partially I liked that street as we were allowed to buy things but hey they were all very artistic and beautiful things. I remember buying insects that were crafted from leaves I suppose? They were very intricately made and I still have the praying mantis with me to this day. After admiring and window shopping, my group had to sit in a place to observe and sketch our drawing for this place. Athena and I chose a graffiti- and all I could remember was the bright colour orange from it. I mean it was her favourite colour and the graffiti was very nicely drawn on. It was my best piece yet as it was my first time using such vibrant, neon colours that was very eye-catching in my sketchbook. It was somewhat also abstract because to be honest I had no idea what the artist was drawing, but with the explanation from Athena and me learning from her- I think I understand??? Yes haha. It was a very enjoyable trip despite the freezing cold weather and the early timings we had to wake up at.

c)
um I would rather say for myself that I take many holidays or breaks- OKAY I STILL WORK HARD BUT NOT THAT HARD. I am very easily tempted by the entertainment we have in society- like I just want to have fun, a fun life you know? Whenever I do work it gives me stress and my head hurts! I try to balance between the two I guess? Okay, but if it is truly a problem that it seems we overwork ourselves and not giving ourselves sufficient rest and breaks- I can see why I guess? Okay stereotypical Asian check, we care greatly about our performance in academics, in school and in our work. We want to do the best we can do, being too much of a perfectionist. I was like that, I get it. I overworked myself back then and always felt exhausted. I think we as a society should learn to take care of ourselves and work hard, HEALTHILY. Working hard is good, but overworking yourself isn't as it affects one's performance and mental and physical health. I think we should try planning our days, giving us sufficient breaks and rest and working hard. Yes, the balance to everything is the key.

(a) No, I don't think that it would be a relaxing activity. I am from the Philippines and looking at the video, I can see a lot of similarities of the state of living of the residents in that particular area. As seen in the video, it is super crowded area, much like the Philippines. So I imagine that my experience with the activity would be much like my experiences in the Philippines, which is not relaxing. First of all, it would be very hot. If in that place, I would probably more focused on how humid the weather is and complain about it than focusing on the activity. Especially since it is so crowded, it would be hard to not have contact with stranger's sweaty arms and bodies. When you are uncomfortable, it is hard to relax.

(b) My favourite trips are always with my god families despite just staying in the country. When I was younger, my family and my god families would always book a room or two at the chalets near Wild Wild Wet. My god parents also have children on their own, so I had more people to play with other than my sister. Since I was closer to their age, I was able to bond with them like my own friends. I guess the reason why my favourite trips are always with them is because in a way, they are my family too. It is different going on trips with your family as compared to with your friends. You have more of that sense of that feeling of being at home. Maybe another factor of why I feel that way is because I basically grew up with these people.
Anyway, whenever we have these stay-cations, it seems like we would always have to swim. It is fun because it would just be us children having fun on our own.
What I also enjoy is the night time. At night, my god siblings and I would always be on the bed trying to find a channel that is worth watching or we would be playing board games.

(c) Growing up as Asians, I think we have developed that mind set. In fact, I think it is one of the factors why the Covid 19 has spread so drastically in the past four months, which is because we choose to put our work before our health. So in my opinion, I agree with that statement at a large extent. However, I also do think that the reason why Singaporeans have been able to prosper despite being such a small country is because of our hardworking Asian mind set.

a) it tells us that people with mobile phones seem to spend so much time on it, and are slowly forgetting what life is like without their mobile devices.
b) the covid-19 virus has prevented people from going out and socialising so now, we depend on mobile phones and devices to keep us connected with the rest of the world. without our phones or technological devices during this period, it'll be hard to keep track of daily news and events, such as assignments students need to complete for online school, or the total number of covid-19 cases in singapore etc. going out will be a huge risk, so in these times, mobile phones are extremely handy if one wants to keep up with the happenings around the world.
c) you share so much of your life with others on social media, it seems like you begin to gradually get more and more immersed in another world- a digital world. 'living' online is extremely different from living in the great outdoors where one can explore and physically interact with nature, mankind, without having to worry about depleting batteries. once your cell phone battery has depleted, it can be recharged again. however, as each day passes, the time we have left to spend on earth disappears as well, and there is nothing we can do to 'recharge' it. instead of living half our lives in the virtual world, we should focus on what is real and appreciate what we have before they are gone. although, i have to agree that mobile phones bring convenience into our lives. sites like google have saved time and effort into finding, for example, the coffee shop nearest to your house. so i think
people should have mobile phones, but use it at a little extent, so that we would not forget about the real world too.

(a) In the video, the family is participating in a variety of fun-filled activities together. They seem to be at an outdoor family event. I think that the family in the video might go somewhere else to relax and unwind after such an exhausting but exciting day together.
(b) There was once when we all went to Universal Studios Singapore together. We went there to enjoy the various thrilling rides and spend time together. As a student with a busy and hectic schedule during the weekdays, I barely got much time to talk and bond with my fellow family members let alone go out with them, so this was definitely a time that I cherished a lot. The day went by rather quickly. As the saying goes, 'Time flies when you're having fun'. We went on most of the rides multiple times and got to chat with each other while waiting to get on them. After the sun had set, we made our way home feeling tired but happy.
(c) I agree with this statement to a certain extent. With the current situation, we are to stay in our homes and only head out of our houses if necessary. Hence, in a way, we are made to spend more time with and interact more with the people in our household. However, this does not mean that we do things together. Most of the weekdays, my other family members are working on their assignments or are busy with important work. We often hole up in our respective rooms and only come out to have meals together. Prior to this circuit breaker, the reason as to why many do not spend time with their families is due to their schedules. Thus, I agree with this statement to a certain extent that families nowadays do not spend enough time doing things together.

(a) It tells me that it is not the mobile revolving around their life but more of the people revolving their life around their phones. I also believe that the man has been a victim of handling his phone too much to an extent where he finally went on a break.
(b) It was when i was waiting for my father to pick me up from a night event. The worst thing was my phone had ran out of battery and it was completely dark and I was standing below a dimly lit street lamp so that my father could see me. I was feeling very nervous especially there was this one person staring straight at my direction and I felt extremely uncomfortable. At that time, I had nothing on me except my wallet and dead phone. That experience has also made me realise later on that how much I needed my phone to be on standby if something had happened.
(c) Definitely not. Phones have brought us many advantages such as communication and convenience. I believe phones do more harm than good if one uses it excessively and/or to harm someone. One instance could be my previous point where I desperately needed my phone to work to stay connected to my father and for my safety. Mobile phones have also made practical uses much less time consuming such as paying bills. Hence, I do not agree that our lives would be better without mobile phones.

There are also pictures of attractions, it seems like the person loves the environment it has to offer.

2) i would like to go to another country as a part of an exchange programme. I find exchange programmes really fun. In an exchange programme i would not only be able to widen my social circle, ill also be able to learn more about the country’s culture. In addition i would also be able to eat food from that country that singapore doesn’t have. One exchange programme i’ve been to was Indonesia. In indonesia, a primary school trip, we ate many food that Singapore does not offer such as the fried chicken there. It was very different from Singapore’s fried chicken.

3) I do not think that we have to live in a country to understand people who live there. To understand other people, the key point is communication. There are ways to communicate other than talking face to face. Since we have advance technologies such as our mobile phones. On our mobile phones there are applications such as Zoom and Skype that allows one to communicate online. Using these applications, we would be able to not only chat but see each other online.

1. I would find it nerve-wrecking instead. It seems dangerous as there are guns shown and the fact that the guy said I have to sometimes dress as a lady gives me chills. I have never been to any countries that are known to be dangerous or at least have avoided such parts. If i really had gone to such an area, I must have either a thrill of danger or I have an absurdly good reason.

1b. One school trip that I really enjoyed is the trip to the science museum. It was filled with plenty of new learning opportunities for me as a kid. As I have always been a science lover, stemming from watching so many cartoons that showcase the greatness of science and intelligent characters. Going to the science museum has taught me much, from how lightning is the 4th state of matter to how each part of our body is essential for us to survive. One of my most memorable moments there was when i impressed my whole class by being able to expain certain parts of the science behind plants and the state of an atom in solid and liquid state work.

3. I think its a matter of balance. Assuming we as students work too hard, I think its all about a understanding the purpose of studying and taking a breaking. With a purpose to study, one can naturally study hard to achieve their aims, while understanding the purpose of taking a break and its usefulness, can help us greatly in studying instead. But a lack of understanding of how to take a break can lead to a very stressed student life and result in more time studied but actually not much would be done learning. Whereas taking advantage of breaks leads to procrastination. Which leads to less learning taking place and a overly relaxed student.

a) i think the people in the video enjoy doing the dance, as they seemed really happy and enthusiastic while demonstrating the dance.
b) personally i think playing tennis is a great way to keep fit and healthy. this may be biased because i actually take tennis classes from the singapore tennis association and i realised, after months of playing, that my stamina, strength and endurance levels have increased. tennis not only focuses on strengthening your arms each time you swing your racket, but it also help to exercise your leg muscles as well. tennis can be played alone, with a ball machine, with another player, or even played with four people at once. playing tennis with others can encourage competition, which can be healthy for us as it can motivate us to perform better.
c) i do agree that children should spend more time keeping fit than playing computer games inside. when children are young their eyesight is sensitive, and can be easily affected unlike adults of age 18 or older. if children spend too much time playing computer games indoors, their vision could worsen in a short period of time, and would eventually have to wear spectacles due to myopia. So when children are young, they should spend more time outdoors, to maintain good eyesight, as well as to strengthen their immunity system. playing computer games however, are also a good way to bond with your friends over a shared hobby and relax after school. thus i think children should spend more time outdoors instead of playing computer games indoors.

We visited places like temple, villages, farm, local school. I have the opportunity to learn from their culture, the way they eat, the games they play, the type of food they eat, the kind of costume they wear.
3)yes, i agree that people work too hard and do not take enough holidays.different age group are busy in different kind of things. Adults and teenagers are busy working to earn money. Students are busy studying and going to school most of the time. Some grandparents are busy as some are still working and some are taking care of their grandchildren. Everyone are busy with their own thing and does not have enough time for holiday. Lets say, in a family, if the child are free, but the parents are busy working, they cant go on holiday as their child are still young.

(a) I think after a long tiring but fun day at the event, the family in the picture would have a relaxing and joyous dinner at a nearby restaurant. After all the activities, I am sure that the children would need to eat to keep their energy up. Personally, I would like to end the day off after these kind of events with a nice and calming dinner with my family. This way, we can discuss on how our day was and what ws our favourite part of the event. It can also help to release the excitement from our minds so that when we get home, our bodies would be ready to sleep as we are in a peaceful state of mind.

(b) For us filipinos, we have this grand party for ladies that are turning 18 that is known as a debut. It is to celebrate the coming of age of a lady that she is not a girl anymore but a woman. In a debut, there are a variety of things to take place. For example, there are the the 18 Candles, 18 Roses and 18 Treasures. In traditional debuts, it is also essential to have a cotillion. The 18 Candles are the 18 most important girls in the debutant's life and they are supposed to have a candle in their hands while stating their wish for the debutant. For the 18 Roses, 18 guys are supposed to give the debutant a rose and dance with her. The first dance is usually the dad. This family event was my aunt's debut and it was my first ever debut that I had attended. That event is so memorable to me because I remember my aunt being the star of the party that the guests were there for her and only her. I knew she must have felt super special on that day and I wanted to have my own party like that too.

(c) I agree to a large extent. On weekends, you would expect a family to want to spend time with each other because that is the only time everyone is free. However, that is not the case for my family. My sister would be cooped up in the room while my dad would be playing games on his computer. My mom would still working because she does not work office hours. I think seeing each other everyday, knowing that each other is healthy, makes us complacent and unappreciative of what is in front of us because we only realize the value of something once we have lost it. So, I think that the mentality of 'family is forever' really makes us under-appreciate our family as we think that they will always be there.

I will know them and we always interact with each other. We are very happy. Going to the market is a different experience than going to the supermarket such as Fair price. Going to the market can allow me to experience the different lives of people in the neighbourhood.
b)Last Saturday, I went to the the market which is near my house. I heard so much noise in the market and uncles sit together at the table and drinking coffee and chatting. I saw many people buying vegetables and fruits. I went to buy some apples as apple is my favourite fruit.
c)In future, technology will advance and online shopping will be make easier to use. However, I do not agree as the stall owners want to earn a living so we should not always depend on online shopping. We should sometime go down to the market or shophouses to buy some grocery. We can also treat it as a morning exercise and not stay home and be lazy. Another benefit of going to the market is that you can make more friends and not staying at home and make online friends in the social media platform. Online shopping does not allow you to choose fresh vegetable and fruit.

As i look at the video, i was feeling pretty happy as well and wanted to follow the steps to this exercise as well.

2) I find that exercising regularly and eating moderately is the best way to keep fit and heathy. Since obesity is one of the health issue most people in develop countries face, i believe that eating moderately and exercising regularly would be the best way. Eating moderately can be following on what to put on ur plate for example the 1/4 and 1/4 and 1/2 rule. which is to eat carbohydrates and meats with 1/4 and 1/2 for vegetables and fruits. We have FCE lessons to teach us on how to eat moderately and to learn the importance of eating moderately. Keeping healthy could be to exercise daily, In school we hav 4 periods of Physical eduction every week, so that we do have excessive carbohydrates leading to health issues such as hypertension.

3) i agree with the statement. Children have been spending too much time in playing computer games than to keep fit. I feel that keeping fit is something very important as it can cost lives. Keeping fit can be spending sometime to do a mini workout. Perhaps to download nike training app and do a 15 minutes workout. Computer games isn’t that good either, playing computer games for a long time will lead to sore eyes and the person may get frustrated as he or she may not be able to leave the computer since they maybe too addicted to quit the games.

1) Personally , I do not think the activity shown in the video is not relaxing. Although I do enjoy travelling to other countries and exploring the world , the activity shown in the video is almost like kayaking. I do not really enjoy kayaking as i cannot swim so i will have anxiety when im out at sea because i do not want to fall in the water. Additionally , it seems like you will have to share the boat with some other people , which makes the experience worse because you will constantly have to act calm so as to not embarass yourself.
2) I remember last year's December holiday , my family and I went to Taiwan for vacation. I did not expect myself to really enjoy my time there as my first choice was to go to Japan , however upon reaching , i realise that the weather there was so much different from Singapore which makes me want to stay as the weather in Singapore is too hot. I also really enjoy the amusement park we went to on the last day , unlike in Singapore , where there is only Universal Studios , there are many to to choose from and i wished i could visit Taiwan again.
3) Although i do not want to admit , but I agree that we work to hard and do not take enough holidays . For students in primary and secondary schools , we only have June holidays and December holidays , having three months of break in total , not considering weekends. This shows that the work to play ratio is not even and that we work too hard. I think that there should at least be a balance of work and play because by relaxing , we re actually resting or minds and when we start working again , we will be able to start afresh and this also gives us the motivation to work harder.

(b) I would love to go to another country as part of an exchange programme. In fact, two years ago, I went on a trip with the school to Shanghai. The main purpose of the trip was so that we could learn more about Shanghai's rich culture and history in a more hands-on way. On the trip we went to a few schools and attended some of their lessons. I noticed that there were a few similarities and several differences in the way that they learnt, which I found very interesting. Some of the methods they used to solve certain questions in their work were innovative.I was also delighted to share more about my Singaporean habits and ways to the students there. It was an enriching and eye-opening trip and I would most certainly take part in another exchange programme like this again.
(c) I think we do not have to live in a country to understand the people who live there. With the development of technology, we can easily access the Internet to search search up information on the myriad of cultures around the world. With a simple click of a button, one can easily find out more about the world we live in. However, by living in that particular country, one is definitely more immersed and more in touch with the culture there. They would know, by personal experience, how exactly to interact with the people living there.Hence, I feel that though we would have a better understanding of the people of the country if we live there, it is not impossible to get more familiar with another's way of life via other means as well.

1) i get the impression that there’s a lot to see in the zoo in the video. There are many animals that we don’t get to see often soon as most of them are going to be extinct. I also get the impression that in zoos, there are a lot of things to do such as to feed the animals inside the zoo, patting them and to see what are the information that might not be known to many.

2) My favourite place in the zoo would always be the ones whereby most children would love which is the small farm animals. At the farm in the zoo, there are common animals that you will see most of the time and they are rabbits, dogs and ponies. I’ve always loved those animals as they do not seemed as threatening as the other animals in the zoo, in addition they are furry and cute. I remember myself feeding the pony grass, it was such a memorable outing with my family when i was young. Even though i had gone to the zoo many times i would be as excited if it’s the first time going to the zoo.

3) i agree with this statement. Since the animals are in the zoo, they are sort of enclose or imprisonments. Animals would just spend a day almost the same as others seeing tourist take photos, being fascinated by their appearance and that their reaction toward them would always be the same. Imagine yourself being caged with little freedom in ur cage, without true freedom one would never be happy, i believe this is the same to the animals in the zoo. so i agree with the statement that no animals would can ever be really happy in a zoo.

1) it tells me that you do not need a mobile phone to have fun and to live. Instead without a mob ile phone one would be able to have more fun. The guy in the video chose not to use his mobile phone to guide him and that there are more activities to do rather than using a handphone. in addition, rather using a handphone to chat, one to one chatting is way more fun and that there are no word limits as well. This tells me that the people who are using mobile phones and not choose to go on adventures are missing out on a lot of things.

2) To think back there isn’t really a need to use our mobile phones. But when we are at home and we need to communicate efficiently, we use our handphones. For example, we have an activity our teachers want us to do but forget to tell us in the morning during class, the alternative way is to do it online. Things will not only be done faster, the teachers would also be able to see it and comment on it if there’s a need to.

3) To be honest, our lives wouldn’t hav been better without the use of handphone. Mobile phone is something important. One example would be that in the near future Singapore would become a cashless society and soon the whole would be too. Mr Lee Hsien loong has mention this is 2018 national rally speech and that we will be the same as china soon. With handphones there are also advantages like it would be quicker to pay someone. And that there isn’t a need for real money anymore. But at the same time without handphones we would be able to appreciate our surroundings more. There are beautiful trees around us as Singapore is a green city, we just hav to take a break and enjoy the scenery when we have the time instead of using it to use handphones.

What impression do you get about the zoo in the picture?

The Singapore Zoo is home to over 2,800 animals from over 300 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Its a protection area for animals that are going extinct as it protects them from poachers and has breeding programs for them to breed and prevent the prevention of the animals.

Tell me about your favourite place in Singapore.

Universal Studios Singapore is one of the most favorite places i enjoy visiting in Singapore. You can enjoy so many rides, shows, and spectacular attraction here. There are 7 zones with different themes in this place, Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar.

‘Some people say that no animal can ever be really happy in a zoo.’ What is your opinion?

Are humans in cities happy? Yes, most of them are, at least some of the time. That’s life. Animals in good zoos are certainly at least as happy, and quite probably happier, than animals living in the wild. The lack of disease, parasites, untreated injuries, and regular food contribute to contentment, and reduce chronic misery. It’s pure anthropomorphism to imagine they spend all of their time pining away for ‘freedom’ , something they have little understanding of. Captivity has its own stresses of course, no matter where you are, life is never perfect, and no one’s happy all the time.

(a) I think the people in the video were eager and enthusiastic about doing aerobics. This is evident through their wide smiles on their faces and the energy in their movements. I think they also might have been feeling a little tired since this was a recorded video, they might have been recording for a long time.
(b) I have yet to find an extremely efficient way to exercise. However, I find what works for me the best is maintaining a healthy and balanced diet of colourful fruits and vegetables. By consuming these nutritious foods and eating lesser junk food, I have been able to remain healthy. Additionally, I think that regular exercise is also important to keeping your body fit. It is vital to one's mental and physical health. This is because while exercising, the body releases endorphins which is also commonly known as a chemical related to happiness. It also helps us to take our minds off the stress we face in school. By eating healthily and exercising regularly, it can greatly benefit one in the long run.
(c) I agree with this statement. Some may argue that computer games are a good way for one to relieve stress and bond with friends. However, I would have to disagree to this fact. Exercising reaps the same benefits and has basically no harmful side effects if done in moderation. My point is that children can still play computer games occasionally, but they should not forget that the importance of keeping fit by exercising.

1. I think the family will continue to explore the carnival and find the areas which they have yet to try and have fun together as a family. Taking all the chances they get to bond together as a family. They may go to a family restaurant nearby and eat together before ending the day walking homes, sharing their favorite memory of the carnival, enjoying each others presence

2. I have attended a wedding which is a joyous moment for my entire family, to see the two lovebirds celebrating the day which marked them as husband and wife to the world. Going around taking shots of beer as if to say that this day is the most memorable moment in their entire life. Everywhere they go, I can only see happiness all around, while I just sit there and eat, thinking about when i may experience such a happy occasion for myself. The food there was also quite praiseworthy, as there was asian food served in a 7 course meal. In it were expensive dishes like lobster and abalone which both is an important and good sign for the newly weds. overall a very momentous occasion

3. I agree with the statement as Singaporeans nowadays face an issue which i think is related to our drive to constantly work hard to earn money or get into a good school. I think that this mindset can drive families apart, as they may be too driven to have time to care for their own family. Even parents who are very busy can negatively influence the child to think that working hard is more important than being a family, or not instilling the proper values of families being important

1) I think the family will continue playing games in the carnival. The children in the video were really participative as they were playing many games and they were very adventurous in trying different games. I think it will be great if the parents join them and they play together because through having fun together , they will be able to bond and strengthen their relationship.

2) Recently , my father's company had this company event whereby employees can bring their family along and spend time together. I remember how i enjoyed my time there as there was a carnival and i was able to see father's workplace and it was not how i expected to look like. I thought that the desks between employees are a few distance apart , like in the movies , but instead , the desks were just right next to each other.

3) I agree that we do not spend enough time doing things with our families these days. Parents are usually out of the house early in the morning to travel to work and work ends very late and by the time they come back , the children will already be asleep. Even for stay at home mums and dads , the children will most likely have many homeworks to complete as exams are around the corner. In addition , during school holidays , children will choose to spend their free time using their phones or other electronic devices than spending time with their loved ones. I think that every family should spend at least one day in the week t spend time with each other , even if it is just a dinner , it is still counted as bonding time as they will be able to catch up with one another.

a) I would find the activity like the one shown in the picture relaxing ( travelling ). This is because i love to travel to new / different countries whenever i have the opportunity to. Every country has their unique cultures and history , which is something i love to explore. I would often travel out of Singapore with my family during the school holidays to know more about other countries and their way of life.

b)i have went to Australia two years back and it was the most enjoyable trip i have ever went on. It was a whole new experience as Australia is so different as compared to Singapore. As an animal lover, my favorite part of the trip was being able to see a lot of animals that are native to Australia. Animals such as wallabies, wombats, echidnas are so common there ! I had the opportunity to hand feed a kangaroo, touch a seahorse and hold a starfish. Most of the animals in the Australian zoo are not caged up, unless they are a threat to the visitors . This way, all the visitors got to see them in an very up close manner and they are all so adorable. They would approach you and even sit at the base of your foot if you allowed them !

c)i do not fully agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays. This is because it differs for everyone, as not everyone does the same amount of work as each other , neither do they take the same amount of days off as holidays. I believe that a balance of work and play is important. Working too much would cause us to lose ourselves amongst our work sometimes and it might really take a toll on our mental health. Where else, playing too much would not allow us to improve or achieve our goals. I would agree that the people who do not really give themselves breaks or the people who do not take days off are working too hard as they don’t take time off to do the things they like . Everyone deserves a break sometimes, no matter how busy we get. If not we might be drained out. I would not agree for the people who take breaks or days off all the time and use it as an excuse that they are having a holiday or using it to do something they enjoy instead of studying. This would result in lack of work being done.

a) I would not find it relaxing as the place is overpopulated, and seems really hot to be at. I presume the weather conditions to be around the same for Singapore, making it not really special. It is also crowded and I personally do not like crowded areas, I prefer to go places more quiet and calming making it relaxing. Hence, I would not find it relaxing.

b) I had a school trip to China, Beijing in 2019 when I was secondary 3. This trip was an art trip and I went there representing dance, it was a 7-days long trip and I really love this holiday trip. It was enriching and tiring at the same time, sleeping at midnights and waking up before the sun even rise. I learnt different art techniques from my friends that takes art, and also from the journey to different art areas in Beijing. I've visited the Forbidden City, Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Ink Studio, and more. I also learnt how to carve a seal! For the first two nights, I went to NCPA for a dance performance and choir orchestras performance respectively. Since it was an art trip, I had to draw everyday for breakfast, and the places I have visited that day. It was difficult to get a good piece of work done as we had little time to draw, and most of the time the drawings are done in the bus or during meal times. Overall, I made many new friends and learnt a lot about Beijing. It's a beautiful place, and what made it even better was that during the time we visited Beijing, it was during autumn going to winter soon! The weather was cold but it was a nice cold. I miss this trip a lot and I hope that one day I can visit Beijing again.

c) I agree that people work too hard and do not take enough holidays. People are constantly working to be able to eat and pay off bills. Some people are more unfortunate and have a lower pay job that requires to work more than they should so that they can live, some people are working so hard because they want that promotion or to save up for emergencies. This leads to them not taking the time off to go on a trip, some do not see travelling as important while some could not even afford to take the time off. Busy working to feed their families and live a comfortable life, this takes away the chances of going on a holiday and hence people are working more than taking a holiday

All of them have smile on their faces while doing aerobics , which means that they most probably enjoy doing the activity , especially with the company of their friends.

2) Personally , I do not enjoy doing exercises and i am pretty sure many people can relate , but i do enjoy dancing so i consider that as my exercise workout. I feel that when im dancing , i can let lose and it relaxes my mind and takes my mind off of studies. Dancing also has many styles and i am able to choose my favourite style of dance. In addition , i can express myself through dance , along with the music that i dance to.

3) I agree that children should spend more time staying fit , rather than playing games. By playing games on electronic devices , there are many disadvantages such as straining the eyes , especially when they spend a lot of time playing and when they play in the dark. However , if they keep fit , the advantages are they are able to stay fit and healthy while spending their free time if they are bored. It will be great if they are able to exercise with their friends as they will be able to go through the hardships together and encourage each other to push on. Their friendship will also be strengthen as their true colours will be shown when they are out of their comfort zone , and they will be able to understand each other better.

We can see that they are playing games at the games booth, there's an icecream car and children are going around participating in various activities with their parents. After a long hours of going around the carnival, the family would be hungry and would go for a meal. Hence, I think the family in the video will be going to get lunch.

b) I have attended a NTUC fair with my family when I was 9. There were cotton candies, bouncy castles, ice creams and game booths. There were prizes to be won and lucky draw too. I enjoyed my time as a children, going around the place and playing the games at the game booths with my parents. It was fun and my favorite part was playing at the bouncy castle, as a very active child, I love to move around and definitely enjoyed the bouncy castle the most because I got to jump around without the fear of falling down.

c) I agree that we do not spend enough time doing things with our families these days to an extent. Children these days are attached to their phones, internet friends and prefer hanging out with their friends more than their family because they feel like they could not click with their parents. They would rather stay at home and watch their favorite series the whole day or play their mobile games than to actually leave their house and have to put down their gadgets to go out with their family. I would be able to make new friends, learn the way things work in that country and in that country's school. Different countries have different ways of doing things, like in the Asian side, most people uses chopstick to eat, while in the American side this doesn't happen. To truly understand the people living in another country, one have to step foot in that country and experience it themselves, because newspaper, articles and videos do not show everything about the country, so to truly understand, one have to live at that moment to be able to see the full picture.

1) The zoo seems to be a very fun place to go to. I have actually been to the Singapore Zoo before and I remember having a great time there. I'm the video, there seems to be many interesting exhibits and some that I do not remember visiting. Overall, the zoo in the video looks like a very interesting and exciting place and I would love to go there.
2) My favourite place in Singapore would definitely be the lower seletar reservoir. It's is a place my family and I have loved going to ever since I was young. My family and I love taking walks and having picnics there. During the evening, the view of the sun setting by the reservoir is just spectacular and I am always amazed when I go there. It is a really great place to exercise and relax and hold many great memories for me.
3)I do not agree with this statement. While zoos may seem small and hence unsuitable for animals,I believe living in zoos may be more enjoyable as animals lose the threat of being poached for hunted down in the wild. Furthermore, animals in zoos are taken care of by loving zoo keepers and never have to worry about their next meals. Hence, I think animals can be much happier in zoos than they ever would be in the wild.

a) I think that the people in the video are enjoying aerobics as they have a wide smile on their faces as they move along with the rhythm of the music. They didn't seem to be doing aerobics like they were forced but was popping with the music and doing out of own will. It doesn't look like they had to do it and hence they must have been enjoying it.

b) I think the best way to be fit and healthy is taking every opportunity you have to move around and not take the easier way. It may be hard to keep exercising and going to the gym etc due to the amount of time taken, and one may not always have the time to exercise. That's why taking every opportunity one have to move is the best way to be fit and healthy. For instance, taking the stairs and not the lift is a great way to keep fit, you may live at a high level or closer to the ground, but by walking the stairs you are actually already exercising. Another way is to buy portable sports equipment that you can bring around with that would help you to train.

c) I agree that children should spend less time playing computer games and more time keeping fit. This would serve as a good habit and it is healthy for them too. Playing computer games would just lead them to be addicted to their mobile phones, limiting their social interaction, neglecting their work and spoiling their eyes. This can also cause children to be lazy and does not move much, leading to health diseases and obesity. However, if the children spend more time keeping fit, they will bring this habit when them till they're old, keeping themselves away from the risks of health problems and they wouldn't neglect their studies in anyways because they will not exercise too much.

1) Rather than relaxed,I would probably feel excited. The place in the video seems to be a bustling country and I would feel very enthusiastic about being in a new country. I love travelling as it allows me to learn about and experience new cultures along with spending more time with y family. The place in the video seems very interesting and does not seem like anywhere i have been before. Hence I would feel very excited.
2)In 2018,I went on a school immersion trip to Shanghai. It was the first time that I went overseas without my parents, hence I was excited and nervous. I had a great time learning more about my culture,as I am Chinese, while also learning about the different practices they have in Shanghai in comparison to Singapore. However, having dinner with my friends and being able to experience this new country with my friends was by far the best part of the experience and it is a trip i will never forget.
3) I think this is definitely true, especially in the context of Singapore. We,in fact, are one of the countries with the least amount of public holidays. This coupled with the intense workaholic culture of Singapore results in many of us feeling stressed out and over working ourselves. I think we as Singaporeans should take more time to take care of ourselves and our mental health. This stress can also put a strain on our relationships. Thus, I do agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays.

I would feel relaxed as I love to travel overseas. Travelling to other countries can allow me to relieve stress after the examination. I can visit tourist destination in that country and understand and try out how the citizens in that country live. I am not afraid of hot weather as I have gone to countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia where the temperature can be as high as 40 degree Celsius.
b) When I was 11years old, my school selected me to go to Cambodia for cultural exchange programme. I am ready as I am very independent so I told my parent that i can take care of myself. I enjoy the school overseas trip a lot as I visited places such as Angkor Wat and landmine museum. I carried the landmine for the first time and the landmines have different sizes. I also learnt the history of Cambodia when the tour guide brought us to Angkor Wat and told us the history of Angkor Wat.
c) i do not agree. To me, I feel that the lifestyle is balanced between work and holiday. My school holidays are always after the examinations so I can relieve stress. There are 4 school holidays in a year. When I work so hard I will plan a holiday with my family during the school holidays. This can allow us to bond with each other. In Singapore everyone has stress due to work or studies.

(a) The impression I have of the zoo in the video is that it is attractive and well-maintained. The animals in the video seem to be satisfied with their habitats and the environment looked very clean. I think it is wonderful that a lot of effort was put into keeping their habitats pleasant for visitors and the animals themselves.
(b) My favourite place in Singapore is actually my previous house in the North. I moved to the far East about a year ago. That place holds a lot of fond memories of my childhood. Although my family still goes back sometimes to that HDB block to vist my grandmother, I miss the feel of the neighbourhood and the friendly neighbours there. Despite having lived in the East for a while now, I am still more comfortable in my old house. The environment there is always warm and welcoming, unlike the place I live in now. The neighbours are more selfish and cold towards others. I enjoy the sense of nostalgia that my old house gives me every time I go back. Thus, it is my favourite place in Singapore is it is a significant part of my life and it holds a lot of memories.
(c) In my opinion, I would partially agree with this statement. Animals that are captured from the wild and placed in zoos might feel more unhappy as they have lost their freedom and feel stressed out by constant viewing from visitors. However, I think that animals that were bred in captivity that have no concept of what it is like to survive in the wild, would be satisfied and happy with their habitats in the zoo. Since they have never experienced the dangers of the wild and as the saying goes 'Ignorance is bliss', they are truly happy under the protection of the zoo. Thus, only some animals can be really happy in a zoo.

- i think the family in the video will stay in this family event. from what i can see, there are many booths available, from bouncy house to snack booths. in this family activity, no one would be left out as there is definitely activities for every age groups. no one would also have to worry about getting hungry because there are snacks such as cotton candy and ice cream readily available.

- since my dad works in the army forces, family events are organised very often. when i was younger, my family and i attended family events almost every single month. i remembered always looking forward to them because of the buffet of dishes that would always be provided and because i was able to play with the army dogs. even though they looked scary and when i first saw them, i had to admit to crying because of all the loud barking, they are all actually very gentle and open to human touches. ever since then , visiting the dogs have always been the first thing that i did whenever i attend family events.

- i fully agree to that. now, even my family do not spend our weekends together attending family events because we are always too preoccupied with our phones or video games. other times, we would either be out with our friends or be busy with our own work. all of these have been putting off family bonding times and caused us to neglect our family members. however, my family have taken some measures to ensure that we set aside enough time for bonding. for example, my dad have implemented the rule that every sunday night should be movie night with the family. we have been doing that for almost two months now and to be honest, even though the two hours for movie nights may seem like a very short amount of time, we have bonded over it so much more and i can tell that we all look forward to it as it is a time when we can communicate and share things with each other.

1) no i do not like shopping in markets like the one in the picture. There are markets like Sheng Shiong, Giant whereby they are not wet markets like the one in the video. one reason why i do not like wet markets it’s because it’s noisy and smelly. I do not like the odour of the meat shops and it’s very noisy since people are able to argue on the prices of groceries.

2) a shopping experience recently would be the Sheng shiong at junction 9. recently many food are out because of food hoarding due to panic because of covid 19. People panic and ends up going to the market and buying as many food as possible. Not a really great experience as people were mumbling and that people were feeling frustrated queuing as the queue was long, even i felt the same way. People were judging each other, and that when a person sneezes, the people surrounding were mumbling about the person.

3) i find it more convenient. when shops or market are done online it means that there isn’t a need for me to be carrying heavy bags of groceries and that i would not get scolded if the fruits are bruised anymore. If it’s done online, there’s isn’t a need to waste time to count money to pass to the cashier. I think that it will be more convenient m. However at the same time, people will get more lazy and therefore buy more food resulting in them to overeat. People would also travel out less often to buy food since theres a much easier way to have food being bought then delivered straight to ur house. This means that people would exercise lesser and that is where all the health problems would come knocking on the door. Therefore there are pros and cons that in the future that, we will not have shops or markets because shopping is done online.

1) The event in the video seems to be a very exciting and active event. I am sure after a long day of fun, they would feel tired and might want to go for dinner somewhere nearby. Or, if the family is really energetic, they might even go for more activities and continue to participate in the fun events.
2) Every year, the church i go to holds a 'family day' for families to participate in fun activities and bond with members in the community. For example, we had an event that had a theme of 'underwater world' last year and many water related games such as water polo and water soccer was held. I t was a really fun experience and not only did i bond with my family, I got to know others in the community better.
3)I would definitely agree with this statement. This is especially prevalent with the rise of technology and the intensive work culture in singapore. With technology becoming more efficient and accessible, teenagers nowadays are glued to their phones and rarely spend time bonding with their parents. This is made even worse by the fact that most parents are wrapped up in their work. Hence, i would agree that we do not spend enough quality time with our family.

a) My impression of the zoo is that it's a very beautiful place, capturing the beauty of the different species and animals we have. Allowing us to learn about the different animals, the way they act, the food they eat and the different specialties they have. I am able to see the animals up close and admire their beauty. Hence, my impression of the zoo is that it's beautiful.

b) My favourite place in Singapore is my house. It's comfortable and it's the safest place to be at. I have everything I need at home, I have my family with me and the best part is my bed! It's the most comfortable thing I have, and it comforts me when I'm down. Also, I'm not one who likes to travel but I'd rather just stay at home the whole day and to watch my favourite series. I don't have to worry about how I look or what I wear at home, I don't need to think about where to go and what to do, and I don't need to worry about my phone running out of battery because my chargers are right here.

c) I agree that no animal can ever be really happy in a zoo. Animals in the zoo do not have the freedom to run as far as they want and are constricted in a limited area. The animals are not in the wild where their true nature is, and no matter how well they are treated, whether they get the best meals, best facilities or anything, the animals will never be really happy because they are missing one thing. Freedom. They don't have the freedom to go where they want, eat what they want and do what they want. They are constantly watched by others and do not have the freedom to do things without pair of eyes looking down at them. They are caged and these animals' own rights are being removed. They will never be truly happy unless freedom is given to them.

(a) The video depicts a man that goes without a cell phone. He looked carefree and seemed to be enjoying the wonders that nature has to offer. This suggests that people using cell phones are increasingly ignorant to their surroundings. They do not know how to appreciate the simple things in life such as the flora and fauna that is around them.
(b) As someone that has a terrible sense of direction, Google Maps or any GPS device on my mobile phone is my savior. There was once I forgot to bring my phone along with me when I was going out to visit my friend's house. One would think that it is impossible to get lost on the tiny red dot we live on, but, I somehow managed to do just that. Instead of taking the train to the North, I took the train to the South instead. Without my mobile phone, I was wandering around the island aimlessly. I desperately needed to use my phone to navigate myself. Finally, after struggling for an hour, i plucked up the courage to borrow a stranger's phone to find the directions to my friend's house.
(c) I think that our lives will not necessarily become better without mobile phones. Many people of the recent few generation have grown up with technology all around them. They have depended on their mobile phones and I feel that over the years, have gotten more reliant on such devices to improve their quality of life. The advantages of the mobile phone is that it allows easy access to different kinds of information at any given time and keeps us connected. But with that being said, there are also cons that come along with this fact. There comes a point when people become over-reliant on their phones and make the excuse that it is just their way of connecting with others. They start to unknowingly distance themselves from their loved ones, forming that disconnect with the outside world. This may also put a strain on the relationships and bonds they have. In conclusion, I think that mobile phones are a necessary evil.

Not only does the exchange student get to experience a new way of life, those hosting him will also be adjusting to his practices, It must also be pretty nerve wracking to new in a new country as well.
2)I would love to go to another country as part of an exchange programme. I have actually done this twice and each time i did, it was a great experience. Not only did it give me the opportunity to go overseas and learn about new practices and cultures, it also allowed me to spend quality time with my friends as we explored the city and had our meals together. Overall, it was a good experience and I would love to go on an overseas exchange programme again.
3) Yes I do. I think there is really no way to understand the practices and culture of a country unless you truly experience it for yourself. This is because there are nuances of a culture that cannot be learnt from watching videos or reading books about it. By living in a certain country, you immerse yourself in their culture and truly experience how life is like there. Hence, i agree with the statement.

Their movements seem to be really energetic and i can really see the effort they seem to be putting into the dance. I have never tried this type of dance before, but it looks tiring and for the to do it with such energy, they must really enjoy it.
2) I personally find going on runs to be the best form of exercise for me. While I would not say I am an extremely active person,I love going on jogs with my family every week. Not only does it keep me healthy, it also allows me to spend time with my family. I really like this form of exercise as it requires no equipment, just a pair of running shoes and it can be done almost anywhere. It is convenient and it always leaves me feeling energetic after a run.
3) I agree with this statement. With technology on the rise, children and teenagers alike have been spending more time on their phones rather than going outside. The older generation loves to talk about how back in their day, they did not have phones and went out more. As annoying as it is, it is true. Youths should be going out more and start becoming active as living a sedentary life can bring negative impacts on one's life. For example, sitting down for long periods of time can have negative effects on one's back and one's health. Thus, I do agree that children should spend more time outside.

There was no one around to help us but only our phones. We had to use our mobile phones to use google maps and find our way out of here, if we didn't have our mobile phones with us, it would have taken us longer than we already did. We spent 1 hour 30 minutes trying to leave the place, and when we did we ended up at a place further than we originally started getting lost at. How grateful I was to have my mobile phone with me at that time.

c) I disagree that our lives would be better without mobile phones. Mobile phones allows us to connect with one another from different places, and like I said, if one were to get lost without mobile phone, how would they get out of the place? Mobile phones do have it's own disadvantages but there would be no problem if used correctly. If life was truly better without mobile phones, then why are people continuously developing phones better and better, it's because mobile phones like improve our lifestyles and that's why our life wouldn't be any better without mobile phones.

1)The video suggests that people are too reliant on their phones and are missing out on the wonderful world around them. This is because the video shows a man hiking, surveying the beauty of nature. It shows that we stare at our screens too much and that we could be spending time in nature but we would rather look at our phones.
2) Mobile phones have become a necessity. One example would be the time i got lost when i went out on a trip with my family. We had gone to the macritchie resevoir and somehow i lost track of them. Thankfully, I had my phone and was able to call them. Without it, I definitely would have started freaking out. As harmful as the can be, one cannot deny the benefits mobile phones bring into our daily lives.
3)I think it has been made better. Mobile phones have brought many benefits such as access to the internet which has given us access to more information and has allowed us to communicate with others wherever we are. While there is the potential for us to be too reliant on our phones,it really does take self discipline to ensure this does not happen. If we use our phones responsibly, it can really bring a lot of benefits.

(a) I dislike shopping in markets like the one in the video. The video depicts a wet market scene. These types of markets usually offer a plethora of fresh cooking ingredients to its customers. I think that I would not like to shop here mainly because of the the stench of fish and also because it is relatively too crowded and too noisy for my liking. I would prefer to shop somewhere where i feel more comfortable in.
(b) I recently I went out with my sister to purchase dinner for my family. The coffee shop that we went too was rather deserted and not many people were queueing up to buy their takeaway meals. The tables were all marked with obvious big red Xs indicating that no one should be sitting their. The lack of lively chatter and laughter of the coffee shop uncles and aunties made me feel a little melancholic, like something was missing. After we made our purchase, I took one last look at the coffee shop and left.
(c) I think this is quite possible. However, I do not see this happening in the next few years or decades even. With the rapid development of technology and the ever-growing percentage of the population that relies on these devices, it is no surprise that we may be able to shop from virtual stores in the future. However, I feel that some people may vouch for physical stores and their importance. Although there are benefits to these stores, i am quite sure that eventually that problems that one encounters when online shopping will be more or less solved by the time all shopping will be done online. Hence, I think that it is certainly possible that we will not need shops or markets because shopping will be done online.

a) No, I do not like. I am unable to stand the smell of raw and fresh meats, it makes me feel uncomfortable. It is also not very hygienic and crowded. I'd prefer shopping at supermarkets like NTUC and Cold Storage as the place is quieter, less crowded and the smell of the fresh food isn't very overwhelming. The floor isn't wet and slippery compared to a wet market too, and it is air-conditioned as well.

b) My most recent shopping experience was shopping for food during COVID-19 before the circuit breaker period. The place is oddly quiet, and everyone looks uptight. We had to wear masks to stay safe and keep a safe 1m distance. The most frustrating part was because I went to NTUC a day after the hoarding news, and Yishun had two NTUCs. I went to the one outside the MRT station and the rice was all gone. My house was already running out of rice and these inconsiderate people hoarded those rices, not only that, even female products are actually gone as well. What am I supposed to wear when I have my monthly cycle, tissue paper? I had to go into Northpoint to go to the new NTUC and buy the products there, but the rice that I normally eat isn't even there. There was only the expensive rice that I could not afford, I had no choice but to buy that. It was a horrible experience.

c) I agree that in the future, we will not need shops or markets because shopping will be done online. People are already doing online shopping for clothes and facial products because it is cheaper online and some are too lazy to travel downtown to go stores to stores to find the clothes that they want, so I think in the future it is possible that food would be shopped online as well. There is already currently delivery services for NTUC, so definitely in the future, when one is too lazy to carry the goods around or is too busy to go down to buy and do not have enough products at home would use online shopping.

1)As messy as the place seems to be, I would love to go shopping somewhere like this. The place seems to be a wet market. I like shopping at wet markets due to the vibrant atmosphere. Yes,there is a lot of shouting, haggling, and it is cramped at times. but this makes the shopping experience more interesting and personal in my opinion. Furthermore, it is usually local sellers who sell at these markets and I would love to support local businesses.
2) Recently, my parents and I went to Ikea to buy furniture. Of course, this was before the circuit breaker. We love going there for lunch and strolling around to do some window shopping. We ended up buying more things than we originally intended to as always, however, it was fun to walk around the showrooms and try out the different couches and chairs as e shopped.
3)I agree with this statement completely. From Amazon to Shopee, online market platforms are on the rise and have become very popular. I personally use online shopping sites often due to how convenient it is. With technology becoming more advanced, there is even the possibility that drones will be delivering our packages to us. Hence, I do believe that online shopping will definitely become more popular in the future.

(a) Looking at the video, I don't think that the activity shown in the video will not be relaxing as it seems to be a crowded place in my opinion a relaxing place should be somewhere that is quite and have nice scenery however, the video shows a place that is very crowded and would not be a place that I would consider relaxing.

(b) I particularly enjoy one of the holiday that I went when I was younger. It was to Bangkok that trip was with my cousin and we have played some water sports like surfing and fishing. The surfing was enjoyable as it take practice to do a good surf and there are different ways that one can surf one can lay down kneel or stand on the surfboard. The fishing is something I don't really enjoy as it take a lots of time and I am not one that is very patience.

(c) I agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays. We have always put in a lot of hard work from young like studying and examinations to when we are older and are working we continue to work hard to achieve success and recognition in the work that we do.

a) i think the people in the picture enjoy doing aerobics a lot as they have smiles on their faces while doing aerobics. They seem to love the dance moves and they follow the instructor’s instructions well. They even have partners / friends to make aerobics more fun for themselves. They seem to like doing it as a form of exercise too as it is not very tedious but at the same time it moves their whole body.

b) i found the best way to keep fit and healthy is to do home workouts. There are many simple home workouts that can be found on Youtube and i will use them to exercise . During this quarantine period , i have tried many different ways to improve my health and honestly, the most effective way to keep fit and healthy is eating healthily and doing a short workouts. This is because it really helps me in maintaining my weight and training my stamina at the same time . As i do not like to go for long distance runs, I prefer training specific muscle groups with just simple equipment like my yoga mat and dumbbells at home.

c)Yes i agree partially that children should spend less time playing computer games and more time keeping fit. This is because keeping fit is very important and gives many benefits. Keeping fit reduces stress, depression and anxiety which i find that it is quite common amongst teenagers/ older children. It will also enhance mental performance and work productivity. This will allow children to focus better in school and in turn, do better. Playing computer games for prolonged periods of time might lead to addiction, neck problems or eyesight problems. But moderation is key and if the child himself / herself is able to control the amount of time they spend on computer games , playing video games are not a problem to them. As some children play computer games for fun and they enjoy it a lot.

a) A place like this would definitely not be exiting because we all know that Dhaka is one of the most populated regions in India with so many problems like traffic congestion, hot and humid weather which makes such a place highly unsuitable for a holiday as it is very annoying and irritating to be forced in such cramped places. The MRT in Singapore is already so hard to stand. Imagine Dhaka which is highly populated in the whole region and not just their trains. Thus, I rest my case that Dhaka is not a glorious place to be stuck in during a holiday.
b) One of the school trips I have enjoyed is the trip to the National University of Singapore where we learn about how to utilise what we learn in schools and apply them to the courses that we have a strong passion and aptitude for. This has actually inspired me to push myself further and aim for a good Jc this year as it reaaly showed how great the final destination was and how awe-struck I was when I saw the huge buildings they have to teach University students. Not to mention the delectable spectrum of food they have that will satisfy anyone’s tastebuds. Henceforth, as a food enthusiast and a food consumer, this is the merely the sole school trip I have enjoyed the most. You see, hardwork isnthe basis and the foundation of who we will become. It is a stepping stone to innovation and critical thinking
c) My opinion is that holidays are not necessary because what we need in our dystopian and ominous world today is an inspiration. One that will make us push ourselves even further and really force us to reach our goals because we want to. Although we work hard and that is a fact, and are prone to being burnt-out, we should continue to press on and continue he grind so that we can achieve more in our lives and make a chnage in the world. Without hardwork, how would our world look like today? I am one of those guilty of working too hard. Just last night, I did not have any sleep and studied chemistry at night after finishing my homework. This is because I know I will get to my purpose, my vision and my desires after all the dread I have faced. Therefore, without hardwork, there will be nothing good left on Earth and we as a society should abolish holidays because it is a hindrance to our full potential as a society.

a)The family in the video are experiencing a wide variety of events and games. I feel that they would still continue to do what they are doing because this is a very thrilling experience to be in as a child. From magic tricks to fiddling with adorable creatures. This family would get the full fun experience that a carnival is supposed to give.
b)A family event I have cherished and attended is our annual christmas party. We watch many movies and enjoy a spectrum of good food during christmas. Every year, the nostalgia of christmas hits different and feels lime a whole new experience everytime it happens.
c) I agree to a certain extent that we do not spend enough time doing things with our families these days as we are bombarded by work. In the ever so vast and quick-changing industry, we have to constantly improve ourselves to compete with the fast-changing world we live in today that we forget to cherish our loved ones and not spend enough time with them which really makes it tough to find a balance between living with them and working so that you can give them a good life. Today, we are so purpose-driven that we forget to love and give our emphaty to others so that we can achieve our goals. We are sacrificing those we love too much just for our goals that we wandt to achieve and purpose we want to outreach.

(a) Yes, I would find the activity shown in the video relaxing as I really like to travel. One of my dreams is to travel all around the globe and experience different cultures with my loved ones. So far, I have travelled to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and China. I have only travelled to the countries around Asia so my goal is to travel to countries out of Asia when I grow older. (mainly because my parents like to travel to countries that are in Asia) Why I enjoy travelling is because I get to learn more about the various countries’s culture, eat unique food, relieve the stress and gain new experiences.

(b) A school trip that I have enjoyed the most is actually my most recent trip to Shanghai , China. I was part of my school’s talent development programme so I am very lucky to be able to travel overseas for my school trip. During my school trip in Shanghai , we visited three different schools and it was a very eye-opening experience. I got to spend a whole day together with some of the students from the various schools and I learnt a lot about how a normal school day in their lives looks like. Additionally , we visited the various iconic tourist attractions in Shanghai and got to learn more about Shanghai culture and history. Moreover , since it was my first time travelling overseas on my own , I had to learn to be independent and take good care of myself and my friends. In a nutshell , I feel that I managed to take away a lot of learning points from my trip to Shanghai and I will never regret going for this school trip.

(c) I agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays. This is because nowadays , our lives are really busy and hectic and it can be really stressful at times. Sometimes , when the stress gets too overwhelming , we all need a break once in a while. Even though you might lose the time to do something productive by going on a holiday , going on a holiday does not look as bad as it seems. By going on a holiday , we are able to distress as well as allow us to spend time with our family members. Additionally , research has shown that taking holidays can actually help to prevent heart disease as well as improve our productivity. If we don't even go on holidays or take a break from work and continue working , we would eventually burn out or even break down from all the stress that we have been feeling which is not good for our mental health and the long run. Hence , I agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays.

(a) I think the family would continue to stay in the event as the activities shown in the video all look very fun and interactive for their children. For instance , some activities that I have seen are interacting with animals , a magic show , a carousel and many more. I think the children would enjoy all the activities as they all look very fun. Moreover , there is cotton candy and ice cream which are food that children love to eat.

(b) A family event that I have attended was back in 2015 where my dad’s company hosted a family day event. It was 5 years ago and I don’t remember much but what I do remember is that there was popcorn and a table with colour pencils or crayons for us to colour with. I remember eating bags and bags of popcorn with my sister while watching my dad talk to his various colleagues. The family event that I attended did not have any bouncy houses or carousels which is quite a shame but I had fun nonetheless.

(c) I agree that we do not spend enough time doing things with our families these days. This is because nowadays , everyone is on their phones and since we are all so preoccupied with our phones , we do not talk to our families as much as we did last time. I am guilty of this and I am trying to use my phone less and spend time with my family more. Additionally , our lives are all very hectic and busy so we all might not be able to make time to spend time with our family members. One way my family spends time with one another is talking to one another after dinner. During this “family time” , we will tell each other about how our day was and if there was anything interesting that happened.

(a) I think the man in the video feels really happy as he was able to make many new friends during his semester exchange to Korea. In the video , I saw him and his friends taking pictures at the school campus and various tourist attractions (my guess). I think he was also able to learn more about the Korean culture and get his own hands on experience of how a normal korean university student’s life would be like.

(b) Yes , as I would be able to learn more about school life is like in other countries. This way , I would be able to appreciate how their day in life is like for them as well as appreciate my own daily school life on a whole other level. I have gone for a school trip to Shanghai , China when I was secondary two so I think if I could choose which country I would like to visit next , I would choose the USA. This is because I am quite interested in how their school day would look like.

(c) I think I need to live in a country to understand the people who live there. This is because when we live in a country , we might need to learn to speak its native language which can enable us to connect with the natives in the country as well as feel like we belong in the community. When we feel like we belong in the community , we would then take more initiative to sit down and talk with the natives of the country and get to know all about the history of the specific country that we are living in.

(a) I feel like the people in the video find gymnastics really enjoyable and fun as they are all smiling in the video and they look like they’re having lots of fun. Their movements in the video are filled with energy and enthusiasm which tells me that because of gymnastics , they feel really energetic and lively.

(b) The best way I have found to keep fit and healthy is to exercise daily , drink plenty of water and eat lots of vegetables. Exercising daily is good for our body since exercising increases the production of endorphins which are known to help produce positive feelings and reduce the perception of pain which is good for our mental health as well as help boost our brain health and memory, reduce pain and makes us feel relaxed and sleep better. Moreover , drinking plenty of water is something we should all be doing since water is known to prevent kidney damage , boosts our skin health, beauty and performance during exercise. By drinking plenty of water , we can prevent becoming dehydrated which allows us to fall sick less easily. Finally , eating lots of vegetables will allow us to have a healthy diet and immune system since vegetables at sa source of many different kinds of nutrients like potassium , vitamins A , E , C and many more.

(c) I think that children should spend less time on computer games and more time keeping fit. This is because even though computer games can help children relieve stress after a long and tiring day after school or simply just kill time when they are bored , it is not necessarily the best way to help children relieve stress or past time. Spending too much time on computer games can result in eye strains , hand or wrists problems , obesity , neck and back pain. These are all not beneficial or good for children in the long run. As I mentioned earlier , exercising can help improve our mental and brain health, our memory and makes us feel more relaxed. It is definitely a much better way for kids to relieve stress or spend their time. Hence , I think that children should spend less time on computer games and more time keeping fit.

1. Honest, I would not find this activity relaxing. The picture shows the city, Dhaka, depicted with overpopulation, floods and pollution. I don't really fancy any of these during my stay there. Furthermore, it looks very hot there, not my cup of tea. In addition to that, you have to worry about your safety. The video shows that you require guns to protect yourself, even disguising yourself is necessary. I wouldn't be enjoying that activity as i would be too busy worrying about my own safety! Don’t get me wrong, i like travelling, especially travelling to new and unknown places. However, i would not enjoy places where i would be in constant fear of my safety and many other problems, like flooding, that i have to worry about. As Dhaka is a densely populated city, my belongings might get pick-pocketed or even be kidnapped! Safety is really compromised here and hence, i don't find this activity relaxing, but more of agitated.

2. I wasn't able to travel very regularly these past years as I was focusing on my academics. My latest trip was to the Philippines. I traveled up north and visited various parts of it. The one of the most memorable parts of the trip was going to the city of Vigan. There were many sites to see as it was a preservation of the Spanish colony, when they colonized the Philippines back in 1521. As a history student, I had many takeaways for this such as how life was like and the type of transportation they used. For example, they still do those kinds of transportation such as horse-pulled rickshaws as a type of tourist attraction.

3. I do agree with that. Honestly I try to do my best in everything I do, put in effort as the end results are very rewarding. However, i would really like to travel to other parts of the world but i don't seem to have the time right now. With the current pandemic, i don't think it would be feasible to travel right now. I did have plans to go to Europe after my examinations but sadly, we stroked of the idea due to the pandemic. Thus, I do think we work too hard and not take enough holidays as we also use those holidays given to brush up on what we are currently not doing well in school.

1) Yes, I would definitely find like the one shown in the video as I personally love travelling. Travelling makes me feel excited and relaxing. However, I do not have the luxury to go to many other countries to enjoy and explore around the world. Meanwhile, travelling is one of the ways to relieve all the stress and pain that we faced and gone through. Many people decide this way to relieve their stress as they forget their bad memories by travelling and learning new things from other countries apart from theirs. Travelling is also one of my dreams when I grow up. I have made promises to my parents that I would definitely study hard so that I can have enough money to bring them to enjoy life around the world and gain experience before they grow even older.
2) I enjoyed a school trip which is going to the art museum. Firstly, I really enjoy art and by going to the art museum will make me gain more knowledge and experience about different kinds of art, such as photography, animation and more. It will also enable me to understand deeply about what I like particularly about art. Secondly, by going to the art trip can also strengthen our friendship bonds. This is because we would be interacting with each other through understanding and explaining about their thoughts of the art work. Lastly, I can gain more experience and use it in my art lesson so that I can improve on my art too.
3) Yes, I agree that we work too hard and do not take enough holidays. This is because we, Singaporeans are too scared of losing and we do have holidays but is a very short holiday for the students. We are taking money too seriously and many people think that if they were to earn a lot of money when they are young, there will be more relaxing when they are in older age. However, do many people still have the life to even live for very long? Moreover, even if the old people can live longer but will they have the energy to even play and enjoy? No, i’m sure that they would not have sufficient energy to play as they are not like the teenagers. Furthermore, we will not know what will always happen to us tomorrow, so we should enjoy before it will be way too late.

1) I think that the family in the video will be resting as they have been having an enjoyable and tiring day at the event. They might go for a place where there is place for them to sit down , as well as eating as they have to make themselves full so that they would have enough energy to continue to play at the event.
2) There was once, my family and I went to an event which needs family involvement in order to play the game. The game is for each group which is one family, needs to tie each other’s leg together and to walk quickly to the end point. This game requires coordination and patience. By playing this game, it will also strengthen the bond between the families as we interact with one another in order to be the champion of the game. Coordination is also important as if there is one people who do not want to corporate and wanted to walk faster, then he might fall down and will also cause the his other family members to be falling down too. Hence, this event is not only test on our patient, coordination but also bonding with our family.
3) I strongly agree that we do not spend enough time doing things with our families these days. This is because we are getting even busier and busier after each year. Our parents also have to work so that we would have enough money to buy food. Moreover, there’s situation that is currently occurring in Singapore which is the coronary virus. It is getting even worser and the prime minister have already announced that all shop including school will close for one month except for shop that sells food. If this continues, our economy will definitely drop and many people will not be able to earn enough money to buy food for themselves and their family to eat. Hence, my parents are getting troubled and frustrated by it. Moreover, specially for me, I am already secondary 4 which is the important year for me. I am having even lesser time to spend with my family due to amount of homework that my teacher have assigned to me and revising through the chapter so that I can be familiarise with it, Thus, I think that I did not spend enough time doing things with my family these days.

1) I think that the two women at the front of the picture are feeling excited. This is because going overseas to study is not everyone would get it and little school have this opportunity to let students to go overseas to exchange their programme. By going overseas to exchange programme, can not only gain experience but also can make new friends from Korea so that if next time I were to go Korea, I would ask my new friends from Korea to guide my through Korea and to familiarise Korea and I believe that it would be enjoyable.
2) Yes, I would like to go to another country as part of an exchange programme. This is because it is rare chance for me and not everyone would get to go as school will have a budget in it. Moreover, by going another countries can also gain many experiences and knowledge. This is because other countries people will share their programme with me and I will be able to learn more and expand my knowledge from there.
3) Yes, I think that I have to live in a country to understand the people who live there. This is because if we were to just search from online and understand from there, it will be useless as I think that the internet will be lying to us, as who will even write things that will reflect badly on their country? They will confirm write something positive about their country so that many people will be attracted to their countries and visit their country, which will allow their economic to grow. This is because when people were to visit the country, they will definitely buy many things. Moreover, by living there, will allow me to know and understand them more deeply than just seeing from the online or even rumours about them.

1) I feel that the people in the picture will feel exhausted but happy at the same time. This is because by seeing their faces, I could feel their happiness in doing this aerobics as this will allow them to be able to interact and have fun with their friends but also will be able to make them fitter than before.
2) I have found that by drinking water and doing yoga is the best way to keep fit and healthy. This is because by drinking water, it is cooling your body and urine which contains metabolic waste will be released out from our body. Moreover, I find that by doing yoga is more effective than jogging is because doing yoga is exercising full body and making body fit and strong whereas jogging is only limited only legs. Hence, I find that yoga is more effective than other exercise.
3) I think that children should spend more time on keeping fit than playing computer games. This is because playing computer games will hurt the children’s eyes and might cause them to wear spectacles forever in their life. However, by keeping fit, we can spend more time on exercising such as by playing basketball. Many children chose to play computer games because they use it to release their stress. But actually by playing basketball will also release their stress as they can invite their friends to join them to play as well! This will not only strengthen their friendship but at the same time, will also keep them fit.

1: I would not find relaxing per say but more of exciting. Personally, I really love to travel to places, being able to see new things and try out stuff that I have never tried before. Travelling to unique places gives me the thrill of finding something new like the same thrill you can get from looking for and finding a secret in a video game, just being able to experience something different is very exciting to me. I can't really find travelling relaxing unless that is your motive in travelling which is to relax but for me, whenever I go out to travel to different places, I try to have the most fun I can ever have there and to explore the place as much as I can before I go back.

2: The one holiday that I have to enjoyed the most has got to be that one time that I went to this Philippines city called "Baguio". This city is probably one of the coldest city in Philippines because it lies on top of a huge mountain. This city is also famously named the 'Ghost town' actually because there is a lot of haunted places there. I enjoyed going here because it is freezing cold and that's just an extremely different environment than here in Singapore. You see, I live in the city called Balanga in Philippines which is a 6 hour drive to Baguio so we usually take the bus to and from there. There was a lot of things that I did there such as horse riding, midnight shopping in the night market, visited nearly all of the haunted places there and also tried out the very unique cuisine there which is mostly hot food to help stop the cold and a lot of strawberry flavored things because the strawberry farm's there are very popular.

3:Personally, I don't agree that we work too hard. This is because we need to work hard to get what we want! Nothing is gained without losing something. We don't usually work to our potential as there would always be distractions in our lives whether it being good or bad so I don't agree that we do work too hard. But there are some people who do work too much or in one word, overworking, people who works too much probably have the mindset that there is nothing but work and that that is all they need to do. I don't agree with that mindset though, working hard is a good thing but working so hard that it actually starts harming you, that's another thing. We should all take a little vacation now and then, to relieve our stress and to find an escape to our problems.

(a) I feel very impressed about the Singapore Zoo as the Singapore Zoo includes 2800 animals currently even though the zoo started off with only 272 animals which is really amazing how the zoo was able to build up on the number of animals that they have in a short amount of time. Furthermore , the Singapore Zoo has the largest colony of orangutans in the world which is once again , really amazing and cool. I also feel really proud of the Singapore Zoo because as a Singaporean , I feel really proud and happy about how Singapore can help conserve endangered species since 16% of the species found in the zoo is on the verge of extinction.

(b) My favourite place in Singapore is Universal Studio Singapore. This is because I made many memories there and I constantly have a lot of fun when I go back to USS. During the June holidays , my parents would always book a hotel stay at Sentosa and we would go to USS for a whole day and spend time together taking all the rides. Going to USS makes me feel adventurous and excited to try all the scary and fast moving roller coaster rides. Moreover , I also get to relieve some stress since I am constantly screaming on the rollercoaster rides that I go on. (but if you don’t scream , there’s no point in talking the ride)

(c) I do not agree that no animal can ever be really happy in a zoo to a certain extent. In my opinion , I believe that it really depends on the situation / context. This is because if an animal is treated well and with the love and care it deserves , the animal would definitely be happy staying in the zoo. However , if the animal is not treated well and lives in very poor living conditions , the animals would obviously not be happy with the idea of staying in the zoo. It is true that animals belong in their own natural habitats , but some animals that have been in captivity all their lives may not be able to adapt to life out in the wild. Hence , it is better for them to be placed in zoos for them to be well taken care of which would definitely make them feel much happier rather than them being out in the wild.

a)i think this question really depends .if it is after a long day and i knew i have accomplished the aim of the day and have a sense of accomplishment i will definitely find an activity like the one shown and relax .However in most circumstances i believe that relaxing is impoetant but not always when we relax we are losing out as someone that aim fir the same goal as you is working and relaxing is addictive once you understand such relaxation you will want it to last and in the end of the day you will find yourself to not being able to have a fruitful and productive day that you thought you will have .soon this leads to habit which will be a main reason thar disrupts your daily plan .Hence i disagree strongly to take such activity
b)a school trip that i hold dearly and enjoy even years have past is the malacca trip that occurred on primary five where i am just 11 years old. It was a trip whereby our whole corhort can attend and we travelled there by bus .At there we witnessed a malay wedding where we learnt about the malay tradition and culture which is a knowledge that i yearn for as i have never experience a wedding of other culture before .on top of that was that my friends and i sleep in a hotel which was a veey extraodinary and great bonding moments of my life as we get to know each other better which bring our relationship closer
c)i agree with this statement because i believe that eveeyone present in today have got something they want to achieve and gain recognition from and sometimes we get to into the process that we actually fell and start loving it waking eveey single day working hard to prove themselves of their capabiloties along the way facing with difficulties and failures which then make them want to give up but forgot that they are still in the process .For example our parents have to work daily from morning till night sometimes even need to go overtime and their obstacles will either be their people around that may hinder and affect their work ehile their motivation is us ,childrens because they know that without quality work they may not get quality pay in this working society where everyone have something to prove and is fighting for an upgrade in their positions in work and hence they have no time to waste and will work really hard sometimes even weekends.thus i agree that most of us work too hard and forget to rest .

1) I would definitely not find the activity shown to be relaxing especially in one of the worlds most populated cities which is Dhaka and is facing many challenges such as climate change and overpopulation. The video shown shows that Dhaka as a city is poorly maintained to high density of human beings, the city buildings are in bad conditions and the streets are dirty. All of which does not spark joy.
2) I went to South Korea last year, it was a seven day trip which i enjoyed the most compared to other holidays which I've been. Since i went during the December holidays, the temperature ranged from ten degrees centigrade to negative eight degrees centigrade which was cold for me, too cold in fact. In Korea, my tour guide brought us to various tourist attractions such as mountain ranges, shopping districts, theme parks, hot springs and much more. Scenery was beautiful, the streets of Seoul were nice, theme parks were fun to play despite the huge amount of people. Sitting under thirty degrees of water with temperatures surrounding of negative five degree celsius was the most relaxing thing I've ever experienced.
3) I agree with the statement. After all, Singapore is a rather competitive society and it stands out in the world, and it is a small country which requires a lot of workers to make an effective society. Even during holidays, my parents could not get their jobs off from them and its not only them, it study by Randstad's Workmonitor research, that one in three employed adults find it hard to let go of work while on a holiday, while as many as 51 per cent of those surveyed said their boss expects them to be contactable. The study, which sampled 400 respondents through an online questionnaire in Singapore, says greater connectivity like data roaming and technology like smart phones has made it increasingly difficult for employees to get away from the office.

a)since the activity shows that the family is currently in a festival and might have dome some activities i bekive that they might want to go and do other more activities together as such time spend on a festival is very rare usually parents will busy with their work so by doing more other activities they tend to bond more and laugh more which then this moment become a memorable one.Or they may go and have a picnic as it a family day and not all the time they can settle down together and have a homemade meal so eating meals cook by parents will be heart warming.
b)one family event will be the one that i attended for the community activity as this is a activity that allow people of different age to attend in that specific community whereby family can attend together to do activities with people of the neighbourhood.i believe that this is a very beneficial opportunity as it not only allow bonding with family members but also with people loving around you this will lead to sense of belonging in the state and when one is in a difficult situations their neighbours can help out as those activity in this event really need the group of people attending which are total strangers to you to have teamwork which then one will know each other strength and understand one another.
c)i agree that we do not spend enough time with our families today.nowadays with many opportunities in the world one is more busy for parents work opportunities for childrens they have to study hard in order to be able to get into their dream school to achieve their dream career with all these mamy time is being spend to master on a subject for children and master their capapbilities for parents so that they will be able to move up in positions in their work.this will lead to family members lesser time to bond as this will eventually make them do their work even on the weekend and then the parents will lose to care and love for their children and lose the bond between them that they have make.

1) My impression I get about the zoo is enjoyable. This is because in the video, I see many people walking briskly in the zoo and enjoying the view of the animals. People would also be allowed to take a picture there to leave memories in their phones. They were looking happily at the animals and observing their movement and their cutenesses.
2) My favourite place in Singapore is the Marina Bay. This is because I have go Marina Bay with my friends and my family. It really leaves me a very memorable day. The day when i go with my friends is with our class. We were going to watch a performance by the performing art people. We cheered and interacted with each other during the show. Furthermore, I also went with my family too. We are so lucky that we can get to sit at the very first few row and we can really see clearly about all the details of the performers. We also get to see beautiful fireworks. Even though it is loud, but it is really beautiful. Moreover, I feel that spending more time with each other is the most memorable thing than others such as fireworks. Thus, I really love Marina Bay that create a pleasant memory for me.
3) Yes, I agree that no animal can ever be happy in a zoo. Even though, the animals were be given food every day in the zoo but they will never be happy. This is because they are separated away from their parents and have to get used to living alone in the zoo. Moreover, people will also observed what the animal is doing and so on. I personally feel that actually animal is like human. Human also would not want people to interfere in their own private life so as to animal, animal would also not be happy by seeing people observing them. Human will also be upset if they are separated away from their parents, same goes to animal. Moreover, they are not able to see their parents forever after they are sent to the zoo and I personally feel upset and lonely for the animals because the most upset for me is that my parents will be there for me and I will always be alone here forever till I die.

1) It suggest to me that the person in the video is enjoying about nature instead of spending time on mobile phones. I can tell that he is really enjoying and carefree as the scenery above the hill is really beautiful and attractive.
2) There was a time when I was crossing the zebra crossing. While I was crossing half way, I heard a really loud “bang” sound in front of me, and I saw two cars crash into each other. Unfortunately, there was one guy in the car who was unconscious, when my hand reached my pocket, I realised that I did not bring my mobile phones with me. At that moment, I was really scared and frightened that the person might die. But luckily, there was a few passerby taking out their phones to call for ambulance. I really regret that I forget to bring my mobile phones with me. I kept on thinking that what if there is no passerby , then the person will die because of me. Hence, after this incident, I have always have a habit on checking whether I have bring my phone with me.
3) No, I don’t think our lives would be better without mobile phones. This is because without mobile phones, we would have to write a letter and put it in the mailbox for the post man to send it to the other countries which requires a lot of time on it which I think that it is not necessary. Moreover, if there is an emergency to call then you will not be able to inform others on the emergency things that the person wanted to say. Furthermore, mobile phones can used to capture the most memorable day ever instead of having to waste a lot of time drawing out on the sketchbook. It will also be more convenient to be storing documents in our phones and we will just require to bring mobile phones as all documents will be stored in the mobile phones which reduce the things that we needed to bring to work. Hence, I find that with mobile phones, our lives will be better as it is convenient and will save our time.

(a) the video suggests to me that nowadays people use phones to do everything , from talking and making friends to simply getting around the neighbourhood. in the video , the female narrator says ‘live your life and not scroll through it’ which suggest how we are all very addicted to our phones and we aren’t living our lives to the fullest , instead we are just scrolling through it. it shows me that i should take the time to put my phone down and talk to my friends and family and spend time with them. only when we put our phones down , will we be able to live our lives to the fullest.

(b) the times that i really needed to use my mobile phone is whenever i’m not home , for instance , during a school camp or a school trip overseas. why i needed to use my mobile phone is to call and text my family at night because i really miss them a lot. i get homesick quite easily so being able to text or call my family whenever i am away from home makes me feel more reassured and comforted. i remember the first time i travelled overseas on my own during a school trip , i felt really scared and nervous. however , being able to text my family made me feel much better and i was less afraid and more relaxed.

(c) i do not think our lives would be better without mobile phones as mobile phones are now an essential thing in everyone’s lives. even though mobile phones can be a distraction for students when studying , it can hamper our thought process and hinder our sleep , mobile phones has certainly made life easier for all of us. for instance , when we get lost , we would not have to go through the trouble of using a map and a compass just to find our way back , instead we can use a GPS or google maps. another example is when students have doubts or queries about a certain subject , they can use apps to help answer their queries or search on the internet for answers. additionally , mobile phones has made teaching much easier as there are fun and interactive apps that i am sure many students enjoy using such as Kahoot and many more. thus , i do not think our lives would be better without mobile phones.

(a) yes , i do like shopping in markers like the one shown in the video. this is because i always follow my mum to the wet market that is near my house. i have followed my mum to the market since i was young and all of the people working at the wet market recognises my mum and I. they have seen me grow up and i will always drop by to say hello to them once in a while.

(b) my most recent shopping experience was last week where i followed my mum to Chong Pang to buy my family lunch. currently , due to the situation in singapore and the circuit breaker , we had to wear our masks out and it was quite uncomfortable because it was really hot wearing the mask. i remember my mum telling me to quickly buy our lunches and go home because it wasn’t a good time to be outside currently and we have to be socially responsible to protect ourselves and others.

(c) i do not agree we will not need shops or markets in the future because shopping will be done online. this is because if all shops and markets close , many people such as the stall owners would lose their jobs and it would not be easy for them to find a job since finding a job can be really competitive. additionally , with many people losing their jobs all at once , it could damage our country’s economy greatly which is not beneficial for all of us. moreover , many people might not have access to the internet and if shopping is all done online , these people would not be able to get any grocery shopping done which could make their lives a lot harder. thus , i do not agree we will not need shops or markets in the future because shopping will be done online.

1) No, I do not like shopping in markets like the one in the video. This is because I personally do not like wet markets because the moment I step in, I can smell the stink smell of the fish and raw meats. Moreover, my house is quite far away from the wet market. Hence, I would prefer to go to supermarket which is in dry conditions as it does not have the smell of fish and meat.
2) Recently, due to the coronary virus, I have less likely to go out to the grocery. However, there was once, my mother needed to buy heavy stuff, hence I requested to follow her to buy and quickly went back home. The moment I arrived at supermarket, there was a lot of people rushing and queuing up to buy food. There was a variety of food that was all sold out and we also did not get to buy the things that we want as people kept on taking and stocking up their food. This makes me to be thinking that they are so inconsiderate as they did not think for others and is always self-centred. I personally feel that this was the worst shopping experience I have.
3) My view is that actually I personally do not like shopping online as there is a lot of scammers online. For example, if the person is reckless, he might be scammed and all the money will be gone from his bank. Moreover, shopping such as clothing might not be as good as trying in the fitting room. This is because when the person bought clothes online, they can not touch and feel the material of the clothing and will only see the appearance and the seller said. The seller might even trick you and beautifully describe the texture of the clothing and how beautiful or pretty is the clothing. However, when it is delivered to the person’s house, then the person might be disappointed as the one that she get will be totally different from the one that the seller had said and show.

1) I personally love travelling, however if we are talking about an activity similar to that of the video, i probably would not find it relaxing. Although i love travelling to new places be it urban or rural, i would prefer it if i know my trip would be at least decently comfortable for most of my time there. I do not really fancy the idea of having to be in a place deemed always overcrowded, hazardous or unsafe, especially for women. With all these precautions to keep in mind, i believe that i would not find this relaxing.

2) One school trip that i enjoyed immensely was my 2018 Shanghai school trip. It was really an eye opening experience as I got to travel independently with my schoolmates and teachers to a foreign country. I felt extremely privileged to be selected for the trip, because this is one learning experience i cannot obtain inside the classroom or from a textbook.

3) I believe in working hard, but not overworking yourself to the point where you do not even get to enjoy what you worked so hard for. I think it is important that we know when to take breaks, to get a refresher so that we can get back to work fresh and with a clear mind. However in a country like Singapore where the economic competition is high and intense, people find the need to work extremely hard to climb ranks in society, to prove to themselves that what they work for is going to be worth it in the end. However as i said earlier, what is the point of working too hard to the point where you do not take breaks and let yourself relax once in a while? Your whole life would end up revolving around work and nothing else.

(a) i wouldn’t find an activity like that relaxing. as seen from the video, Dhaka’s environment is not really as great as it looks sort of dirty and polluted. additionally, it’s really crowded and i dislike being in a crowded place with people pushing around. in my opinion, it also seems like it’s really humid in Dhaka which would put me in an uncomfortable state. hence, an activity like that, exploring Dhaka, would not be relaxing for me.

(b) i have not been on a school trip but recently last year, in november, i went on a 5-day holiday cruise with my family. as it was it was my first time going on a cruise, i was really happy to get to experience it. the food there was amazing as well as the activities available on board. spending five days there was like three days to me as i really enjoyed myself and i felt really sad when it was all over. i really hope i could go on another cruise trip soon.

(c) i guess this depends on a person’s interest as not all people think the same way. some would prefer working and spending on necessary items, rather than spending a large sum of money travelling around the world. some others would also work really hard and then treat themselves to a holiday to take a break once in awhile. i can also say that some people dislike travelling as from what i heard, they tend to get frustrated while packing or that they consider it as a waste of money. hence, i think going on holidays differs from each person.

1) I think the family in the video might head off somewhere for a lunch, a snack break or continue exploring other carnival activities. From the video, the day still looked rather bright, so i am assuming that it is still the afternoon, and the family would want to spend several more hours enjoying themselves before calling it a day.

2) One family event i have attended is my cousin's wedding. It was a grand occasion as her husband's family was extremely well-off and would not settle for anything other than a top tier wedding. Two entire levels of a luxurious hotel was booked just for the wedding, and the event was very ceremonious, prestigious and extravagant. It was definitely an experience that i would remember.
3) Yes i agree to this statement. Today, we are so caught up with our daily lives, our personal routine and commitments that we conveniently ignore the people closest to us. We take seeing out closest relatives so often for granted, that we end up not caring about or appreciating them until they are gone. We start to feel that it is not necessary to spend time with our family since we see them so often and there is no point. I strongly believe that we need to start spending more time with our family before the time comes where we can only wish we did.

1: In the video, the families went on to an exciting and fun-looking event where they got to play games, touch exotic animals, do sports and even watch a magic show. After an exhausting day like that, I would infer that the families would probably go out to a restaurant and have dinner to relax and to regain their energy for the days coming up ahead.

2:In my family, we usually hold this reunion every year in December where everyone in our family have to attend. These reunions are the best because we are able to physical play games with each other such as sports, swimming and some party games, and we almost always barbecue as well. I am able to meet up with my relatives that I haven't seen in a long time due to them being in a different country or just because they were in a different city in Philippines. I'd say the best part about these reunions is that I'm able to win some money from them, this is because the party games also includes prizes that is most of the time money. At the end there is also a lucky draw where 3 people in our family gets an amazing prize, which is also usually money, and I have been one of the winners three times in a row. I have also attended my aunts wedding, I enjoy the vibes that are given by the weddings as everyone is being happy and cheerful for them but there's also another thing about the wedding that I did enjoy, the food was amazing!

3: To be honest, being in quarantine for about 2 weeks now, I now understand that it is not always good to spend a lot of time with your family. Of course we need to spend some time with them now and then but when you spend too much time for a person or group, after a couple of times, it would get very stale. There would be nothing that you can talk about because you had probably already talked about it. I say that we do need to spend time with the family but not too much, maybe at least once or twice a week. This is what I believe in after being in quarantine for 2 weeks. Let's say there wasn't quarantine, I do say that we need to spend more time with our family as we never know when something bad might happen to them or how much time left we have to spend with them. These days I see many people prefer to spend time with their friends or go out to other places without their families as they are annoyed by their family but I say that we should spend the time we have with our family before it is too late. There's this saying that I always have my mind on, you never notice something until it is truly gone.

Day 4

Would you find an activity like the one shown in the picture relaxing? Why, or why not?

I personally dislike travelling, crowds and new places. This is because the acivity was to explore a new country. I have poor sense of direction and getting lost in a place so crowded and unfamillar is not relaxing! I do not think that I would enjoy a trip through a humid and densely populated area. This activity would be the opposite of relaxing, I usually travel with my extended family and any trip with them wold be the opposite of relaxing and as I do not like travelling to new places, where it seems loud and warm it would not be the most relaxing.

Tell me about a holiday or a school trip that you have enjoyed.

An enjoyable school trip for me was the school trip with my literature class to wastch the play 1984. The play is adapted from the book 1984 and being a book lover I enjoyed the play immensely. The actors were professional, the lighting and sound cues were on time and the audience was attentive and silent, my kind of show !

Some people say we work too hard and do not take enough holidays. What is your opinion?

I think that we have plenty of rest hourrs and that they give us ample time to relax. These resting periods are not always holidays or weekends but just small pockets of time on the train or bus or just during meals. Those are the times that I find give me a break from my hetic work schedule.Holidays and weekends are extended resting times and should be spent with family and current holidays give us ample time to be with them.

1) I think the family shown in the video will most likely play table football (is it what's its called?) as it is great for family bonding as the family can have fun insulting in a family friendly at each other which builds family bonding because it lets the family see their competitive nature.
2). I have attended many family events which are always similar especially family reunion during Chinese New Year. It is a huge family. We would usually book some Chinese restaurant and in it is always the "Chinese restaurant" atmosphere where there will always be a crying baby, 2 children that can't control themselves, some middle age man drinking chinese tea talking about politics and at the same time laughing with the volume as loud as thunder. However, I would usually enjoy my time during family reunion as i get to catch up with my cousins and also have fun with them through other means; having compliments about my growth by elders would also make me feel somewhat satisfied.
3) I agree that we do not know spend enough time doing things about our families. In this day and age, the competition in the real world is getting tougher as new knowledge forces people to constantly update themselves which isolates them from their families in the pursuit of keeping updated to stay competitive which is beneficial to their families in terms of money. Furthermore, parents also need to work for long hours from dawn to dusk or at times overnight just so that they can feed their family which may not be great thing socially as the children would rarely see their parents.

Having gone on several foreign exchange programs, I am taken in by how different other cultures are and how much one can take away from this enriching experience. This also tests a student's independence and self-reliance, as well as how well he or she works as a group under different circumstances. The memories made during these exchanges will last one a lifetime.

2) Yes i think so. Other than going to see the country for yourself, the only other way one gets to hear about a country is by acquaintances who have traveled to that country or through the media. He appears at ease with the other students and likes the local food as he is seen eating street food in one of the photographs.
b) I have particpated in a school student exchange programme in secondary 2 when students from Shanghai came to visit the school and in turn , the Talent Development Programme students took at trip to Shanghai to learn more about Shanghai's culture . I found the experience very much enjoyable and would not mind attending another exchange programme. We visited schools, ate local cuisine and toured museums. It was such a memorable experience , I would really like another oppotunity to travel overseas with my classmates again.
c) I do not believe that we need to live in the same country to understand others from a different nationalities. This is mainly because we have the Internet to help us research on cultures and customs of other nationalites. Furthermore, Singapore is a csmopolitical nation, we do not even need to travel overseas to interact with someone of a different nationality.

a) The students appear enthusiastic and eager to dance but their instructoe appears breathless but still enthusiatic. They are also passionate about dancing as they perform each movement with a sile and eagerly. In dancing or performing in genral, I believe that it is important o be passionate and excited to learn and perform . This is because the your attitude is very easily seen on stage , the amount of effort you are putting in and that your eagerness is real.
b) I have not found a stable way to keep myself fit and healthy , this is because I mainly use my Physical education lessons as my only form of excercise. I enjoy keeping fit by playing games with others . However as a single child and finding it hard to gather a group of classmates to have a game with so I find Physical Education lessons the easiest and most fun way to keep fit as every student is being forced to participate which means that I have team mates to play with. I believe that keeping fit and healthy is important but is hard to accomplish. This is because of hetic work schedules an dabundance of unhealthy meal choices.
c) I agree with the statement . However, I find it hard to accomplish .This is because of hetic work schedules an dabundance of unhealthy meal choices.Furthermore, children need adult influence to encourage them to try and keep fit an dhealthy . I believe the most effective way is to go out as a family to excercise , this provides a positive environement for children to excercise in .

a)I feel that the Zoo has grown exponentially in the last few years, not only has the population of animals increased, but the Zoo now cares for a large population of endangered species so I feel that the Zoo is important in keeping wildlife diversity in check.I have been to the Zoo many time and it is my opinion that it is a fun and good learing experience. I enjoy the animal shows the most this is because the animals are seen up close and interacting with humans , this is very exciting.
b) My favourite place in Singapore is Naval Base Secondary School. This is because I enjoy learning and asking questions and thinking, I know that I can also learn from the web but I feel that going to school is like a special preveilege gives a snese of excitement to learn new things.
c) I disagree with that statement , ehile you may agrue that animals in captivity are denied their life in the wild I would say that it is more than fair to trade away hunger, thirst and disesase for a life in capitivity where you are never hungry , thridty and have medicla care. You may then say that animals in captivity are bored and have nothing to do . However, I say that they are given plenty to entertain themselves with, learning tricks for shows, playing with provided toys and roaming the spacious enclosure.I think that animals in the Zoo are better treated than those in the wild, the threat if man is prevailent in the wild but in captivity, man is servant to these majestic and protected creatures.Their natural instincts are also not suppressed as their habitats are made to stimulate their natural environments and interactions between animals and humans are limited ,leaving them to bond with their own kind, so I think that animals in captivity are happy.

a)i think the people are feeling very energise and excited .As all of them are very cooperative and do not seem to dislike the activity .they are doing the different movements to their best and trying to even catch up for those that cannot follow the speed showing a never giving up attitude.
b)personally to me i believe that the best way to keep fit is having a reason in mind to this question"why are you doing this" any reason because to keep fit one need to be mentally prepare as one need do undergo a specific dietfor their body types and have to even working 4 times a week consistently .At times when they are about to give up and hate the process the reasons of why they started even though they knew it is going to be difficult will come in and allow them to stay motivated and persevere on .to have a proper diet because after exercising we need to right amount of nutrients to replinish and repair the body cell that have worn out and usually one need to consume high in protein as protein specifically repair those cells .to see result like become stronger and having your ideal body one need to definitely workout most of the week and next need to have plenty and sufficient amount of sleep so that the body can rest after you have tired it out .
c)i agree to this statement as keeping fit have many benefits especailly when one is still young as they are more hyer and energise so to burnt such energy in the body one can exercise .exercising allow them to not only strenthening their body but also allow them to have confident.Nowadays people are being bullied on online or not on online and may have lost themselves so i believe exercising is also one relief of stress method that allow the people to forget about such anger and sadness instead using those feeling and emotions as their fuel to exercise ,exercising can also allow one to stay healthy.allow one to spend their time wisely as they do wake up early to do endurance training like running once they are addicted to keeping fit.

a) The picture shows a people enjoying their lives to the fullest and finding their inner purpose when they travel. This suggests that people who are always on their phone barely lived their life. Life is about finding true meaning and making a purpose out of it while maintaining yourself spritually, physically and emotionally. How would life be like for someone who has never walked together with a loved one? Engrossed, closed and shut away from the depths of society.
b)The times when I have used my phone is when I come across a difficult english word which helped me to enhance my spectrum of vocabulary petrifyingly and it had really taken a positive hit onto my essays as me writing essays now compared to before is such a breeze.
c)Yes and no, as it all depends on so many different factors that we shun into our daily lives and routines. For example, as I have said earlier, I used my phone as an advantage to me by improving my vocabulary. However, for some, it may serve as a distraction as people may be distracted away from their work or their family. In our global economy today, it would be difficult to cope with the fast-changing world and studies and it is understandable that people may take breaks in games, korean drama or anime. Despite this, people are neglecting their health and mental capacity as great individuals and instead using their phones so much to the point where they lose themselves and their sanity. This is the true capability of the smartphone. Its pros and cons are beyond the the infinitely long spectrum and we create more and more pros and cons about smartphones every single day which makes it difficult to see which sied outweighs the other and make an accurate judgement of this mahagony in our dystopian world we live in today.

a) yes i would like to shop in markets like the one in the picture. This is because wet markets always have the freshest ingredients for my family to buy home and cook. I go to wet markets often with my family, especially my mom. i would always eat at a nearby hawker centre before heading to the wet market to buy cooking ingredients. The vendors that sell meat and vegetables there are also very friendly and honest. They would always strike up a conversation with their customers , and those conversations would often end with laughter.
b) Recently i went to the town area, at raffles place to shop for my friend’s birthday present. Usually, i don’t really go to the town area but i find that the town area has better shops and a wider variety of presents to choose from which gives me more options. I went to every shop that sells stationary/ potential things that my friend would like. It was a very fun and fruitful shopping experience as i went with another friend that gave me opinions on what the birthday girl would like . So in the end, I got everything i needed for my friend’s gift. i got her a small item from a few shops that she adores and for a final touch up of the gift, i went to the supermarket to get her ,her favorite snacks.
c) i don’t really support this idea as i prefer physical shops when shopping. Even though the idea of online shopping can be convenient and can save a ton of money, like the shop’s rental fees, it is not as enjoyable as shopping physically at the store itself. It also has it’s down sides to it as we are not able to try out that piece of clothing that we want to purchase in the fitting rooms unlike physical stores. Honestly , i find the trying out of clothing very important, as not all sizes are the same. Some may have a smaller or bigger cutting , causing some areas to be tighter or looser. Having fitting rooms makes it easier to decide if you would buy that piece of clothing as you are able to see how well it fits your body. Thus ,i would not like online shopping as much as shopping at malls and physical stores as it gives me joy to go out and buy new clothes at different malls sometimes.

a) The impression that i get about the zoo in the video is that it is very well organised and that it contains a lot of many different animals. I find this zoo really interesting as there were many animals shown in the video. The animals seemed to be content in their own exhibits too, they don’t look stressed or unhappy. This shows that the zoo keepers have been treating / taking care of all the animals well and have kept them well fed. The video also showed that this zoo has animals shows and that there would be places for the audiences to sit while the animals perform. This is not really common in zoos as the animals are usually just in their exhibits , not allowing them to interact with the visitors. But this zoo has some animals that are able to interact with the visitors which is amazing.

b) My favorite place in Singapore is actually
Bugis. This is because it is my favorite place to shop at and it contains so many good restaurants/ food stalls. At bugis street, there are many small stores that sell clothing / food and accessories. These shops contain clothing that are nicely designed and they are affordable at the same time. I used to get most of my clothing from there but it’s been quite some time since the last time i’ve been there. As i am always busy with school/ school work so i shop at malls nearer to where i stay.Nowadays only on rare occasions, i would head there for their wide variety of food. Honestly, just being at bugis alone makes me very happy. I’m also not just why but it’s just my happy place so i would always head there during holidays.

c) No i disagree with this statement, but to an extent. This is because most of the animals are captive bred so do not know what it like in the wild. In fact, many were abandoned or rejected either by the wild or society. Many have health conditions and require special care so wouldn't survive if they were in the wild. But i also realised that animals would not like to be kept in exhibits , no matter how similar it is to their conditions in the wild. They might feel stressed and upset if they are separated from their family / mates , thus i do not fully agree that no animal can ever be happy in a zoo as some animals are living better lives and are taken care of better than in the wild.

a)i am very impress with their facilities as there are cars that drive visitors to visit the huge ZOO and on top of that the zoo guilders are very efficient in their work as they are ale to give specific details about a specific animal.i feel a sense of warmth and gratitude too as seeing most of such makestic animals that are not much left in the world and are facing extinction i am very thankful towards all the ZOO members amd people that have make the ZOO possoble till today . The care that they have shown to each and every animal keeping their environment clean and taking care of them
b)my favourite place in singapore will definitely be the basketball courts at my neighbourhood .it may sound weird for having such a place i value but it is wjere this place i found myself a place where i relief my stress a place where all my chilhood memories hold and a place where i hold dearly . That place have gave me a understand that in this life and world we live in if we want progress and develop we must be willing to undergo endless failure and hardships as one will learnt more when they fail this place allow me to learnt valuable lessons that are not taught in school and have benefitted my life as at the same time i am also learning and living a healthy lifestyle of being active
c)i agree this statement to a certain extent. As animals are supposed to live in the wild and have a nature where they can fully show their potential as potential i mean natural hunting methods of hunting down their prey and be active in the wild . Sometimes they are even used to perform circus lime tricks for the audiences so that the ZOO can earn more money but behind the scene of all those cool tricks done by the animal they have to undergo training that sometimes tend to be harsh and torturing for the animal. However animals being kept in ZOO they are in a safe environment where they do not need to be afraid of being hunt by theur predators and that being extinct and not need to worry about not having sufficient food .

a) The video suggests that people who are using their phones are obessed with social media and do not spend enough time offline to enjoy life.I feel like this video was targeted towards teenagers who tend to spend the most of their time online. I believe that people are obessed with social media and online phatforms as it is a form of entertainment that requires no physical exertion, being online also keeps you up to date with the current events of the world. Furhtermore in a world that is becoming more digitialised, more people have to aquire new soft skills that can be learnt from your phone.
b) I do not recall a time where I urgently needed the use of a phone. However, I remember several instances where others should have had theirs, one of the most memorable times was during the Teacher's Day celebration that the student leaders hosted, as many student leaders had been advised not to use their phones during school hours and we where posted at different locations , it resulted in poor commincaiation . This particular inciddent of poor communiciation resulted in the los of eightollars, while preparing the Teacher's Day ards, we ran out of glue and sent two students tot he nearest store to get some. However, someone then found glue and we where unable to contact the students as they had left their phones in school and we ended up with 12 tubes of glue. Therefore, bringin your phone with you is important.
c) I disagree . I think that our lives would get much worse without mobile phones , my previous example had shown the consequences of not having a way to contact others. However, it is not the issue of the lack of communiciation that haunts our society , but it is our obession with being online that poses a threat. Living without mobile phones is living with one less distraction and being able to talk face to face with other people but is it really worth it to give up the web of communciation that mobile phones have given us?

a) I live near a wet market and I do enjoy shopping there. This is becaus the prices are lower, the market is closer to my home andyou buy only what you need there as the food sold is very fresh and spoils after a day or so. I believe that many would prefer to shop at dry markets for their cleaner enviroments and their wider range of items such as canned foods and international foods, items like these cannot be found in wet markets.
b) I most recent shopping trip for me was going to the supermarket with my mother to buy groceries for soup. It was like any other shopping trip , aforadable prices, the queue werenot too long and yours truly being unable to tell the difference between lettuce and cabbage. However, the one thing I always notice in supermarket stores is that the promotins are always chaging, electronics, foods or clothes, I remember that that particular promotion was one for clothes and many people were gathered around that booth so we avoided it.
c) I do not think that online shopping will replace going to the stores to purchase items and while it is true that supermarkets have online websites, their stores are still attracting customers as customers want to chose what they are buying, they test the ripeness of the fruits and the freshness of the fish, things you just cannot guruantee when shopping online.

a) The people look very eager to learn aerobics as it looks like a fairly fun activity to do at home especially during our situation today in the world where we have trouble finding motivation to do exercise at home. We should all do this to keep our immune system strong and healthy to prepare for future events so as to make our lives much more happier.
b) The best way to keep healthy is consistency where you do exercise everyday so that it becomes a habit. Although it is tough, like the old folks say, it takes 21 days to be build a habit. Let me elaborate further on this, we need to be resilient in our daily lives as it will impact our lives positively. We should all also do our part for the economy by keeping fit so that our economy will not crash down due to the unproductivity of workers or their inefficiency in working because tehy are sick or not healthy to even attend work.
c) Yes as computer games would make your children addicted to gaming or drama and it may cause them to develop eating disorders that will harm their health significantly in the long run. We should also all be responsible for trying to keep our children fit by encouraging them to exercise or eat healthily as it will affect their future. Studies show that healthier children tend to do better in their studies than students who are either overweight or underweight. Thus, fitness surely take its impact on our children’s mental health and grades.

a) No as I hate the hot and humid weather inside a wet market. It is also very tightly spaced in that area which makes me hate it even more as it would be a nightmare trying to get around the wet market.
b) One time, I was queuing up for so long. I think it took about 40 min just to get our groceries to be checked and finally get out of NTUC. It was really a tiring experience as a shopper as it was really a dread trying to finish up the queue and finally finishing what I started. However, it made me learn new skills like hardwork and determination in order to complete this long journey while also testing my intolerable patience.
c) No, shopping is a different experience and I feel that shopping is entirely different from just shopping online and this is why we should uphold its legacy as a shop due to the fact that it has a unique experience that is uniquely Singaporean and binds us as one whole country together so that we can do our duties and roles in societies to be better as we try to achieve our best.

As animals, they require all the attention and all the help in their daily lives so that they would be able to live long and healthy.
b) My favourite place in Singapore is the shopping centres as they are a great source to find every you need. I liked shopping centres as they have a variety of facilities and options to choose from whether it is food, entertainment or furniture.
c) It is not true that no animal has ever been really happy in a zoo as animals have each other and they get supplied food everyday. In Singapore zoo, they have a home similar ; if not a paragon of their homes in the wild. Singapore Zoo has done a great job mimicking the places the animals live in so that they can live in peace and continue with their own lives while they even get supplied food so thaat they would live long and healthy which would in turn make them happy. Thus, this fact has long been a fake one as animals are truly happy in Singapore Zoo.

It is very rare for students to get sent to other countries to represent thheir schools which would make it such an honourable and memorable exper for these two women.
b) No. Looking at the situation today, with the threats of covid-19 it is much better to stay home to stay safe so that we can flatten the curve or in other words, hinder the virus from taking over the whole world which is why it’s necessary that we do not travel and exercise caution when we move from one place to another.
c) With the rise of social media, this is not necessarily optimal for us as we can already learn about the cultures and experience from other countries using our phones. We don’t need to travel to a country a just like in the old days as we can truly and morally understand other countries without the need of travel. It would be rather hectic or useless to travel as such just to find out how people live in a society when you can literally just find what you wanted to find with the click of a mouse.

a)i personally dislike shopping in the market shown as though there gave many food respurces that can be bought there i believe that in such environment the food is being placed at the quality of it will not be fresh since most food there can be touched by hands of many people it will only be right that food there may be dirty as we may not know whether their hands are clean or not .on top of that usually wet market is only available in the early morning and i do not usually wake up very early so this market will not be to my favour .In addition with the condition now of the spread of virus i will definutely not go to such places to get my needs where there is a crowd as this can be easy for the virus to spread.
b) i recently went to dufferent shopping malls dependjng on the situatuons.recently a new website called space out have been created to help and allow people to first hand view the whether the shopping mall is crowded or not the information is accurate since it provudes data in a regular basis.depending on this i will choose to go to shopping mall that have less people and once reach those mall i will not waste any single time but just go into the mall with a purpose to buy essential products and stuffs i need for my daily life.
c)i disagree with the statement as yes though shopping online save time and is some what efficient is it really trustable if we do not have any shops or markets and just totally rely on online some peoole may abuse this by giving poor products .next purchasing online we first need to input money online and this is nit safe as the world is now more globalised ,the cybersecurity may be vulnerable and weak as hackers can now easily access our datas without us knowing so i believe that there is still a need for markets and shops to be available.

a)i think that the two women infront are feeling excited ,jovial and gratitude as they are undergoing an exchange programme where is a programme that allow one to go oversea to another school that is abroad and learnt and study at their environment , i believe sich experience is a once in a lifetime experience as they are able to witness their culture which broaden their thoughts about the world ,it is just like an adventure for them since they are travelling to other parts of the world which most poverty people will not be able to have .
b)i will defibutely like to have an exchange programme as this programme give many benefits that one cannot gain without really experiencing it by person. For example first it allows one to have a more clear view of the world , broaden personal perspectives and teaches vauluble lesson thst cannot be taught in class as one is being place in a new environment many things have to change such as their daily activities and need dmto adapt to the new environment usually the programme will not involve parents so this will allow one to be independent and not always rely on their parents.
c)yes .as if we do not really go to the countey and experience fully of the conditions people are there and just rely on online informations for that we cannot really have our own thoughts about it as sometimes online knowledges may be unreliable
