1. The speech, "I had a dream" by Martin Luther King Jr. inspire me to instantly think that our goals that we have set are achievable as long as there is no "impossible" in your dictionary. The speech present hopes that can change the charges of injustice toward the oppressed race. If there is injustice, speak your heart. LOUD AND PROUD. Even though there are obstacles, it is better to give it a try than never.

Compose for 7

1. This speech inspires me to remain open-minded and treat everyone as equals. King's strong voice and repetition in his speech helps him strongly convey his message of freedom, Freedom from prejudice and hatred. As King, states we should support one another to become what America was meant to be. A place for people of all background to come together and prosper along one another.
2. To me, America means freedom and opportunity. Opportunity to be whatever you want to be, regardless of where you come from. You can be at the lowest of the lowest, but you can still make it to the top.
3. Currently, America is divided by both sides due to the current political climate. In my opinion, King's dream became partially true. We see people come together more than ever. But hate still remains out there with a number of hate groups and contrasting conflicts.

1. The speech inspire me to believe that there is hope for the future. A future where there will be no more hatred to people of different backgrounds. But instead, we will learn to love another despite our differences. America is a land full of opportunities but it has also a place where a lot of hate happened. Discrimination and racism in the past toward the African American population was a horrible part of our history. However, I believe that America had come a long way since then to be where it is today. We are making progress toward King's dream, but there are still racism toward minorities population in the U.S. King expressed his strong feeling toward a future where everyone in the U.S. will get equal rights and be able to love another despite of different skin colors.

America has always prided itself in being the land of the free; however, the word freedom only applied to certain percentage of the population. The fundamental ideals that America represents is not distributed to everyone inhabiting it accordingly. Creating an unjust and biased world where the "whites" are always favored than any other race in one way or the other. MLK's dream did become a reality but to a certain extent. He was unable to see the changes that he outlined in his speech but he was a powerful being that pushed this movement forward by giving the people hope. Although, there are different forms in which America is still segregate today but it is not the same as it was before.

While Martin's dreams did come true in the aspects of desegregating areas and joining hands with people who have a different skin color, there have been several conflicts regarding race that shows us that America is not necessarily up to Martin's standards as a great nation.

1. The I Have a Dream speech has inspired me as MLK Jr. was standing up for what he believed in confidently. This speech, in essence, is the foundation of the hope for a future of no racism. This of course may be impossible. This speech inspired me because there is soo much passion that can be seen flowing throught MLK as well as the crowd around him. All the individuals in the video had, or agreed, with the same vision as MLK. This is key due to the fact that changing a system is hard, but not impossible.

Alondra Mayorga
I think that the United States still has the same problems that were faced in the 1950s and 1960s. For example the Black Lives Movement, although the civil right was fought for race equality and the laws have changed but the people of color are still being treated differently and unfairly. Martin’s Dream did become a reality but I don’t think he would be happy to see where we are right now as a nation and a society. If he was still alive today, he would continue to be an activist for people of color.

Although different traces of his dream can be seen as newer generations become increasingly open-minded to others who are not like themselves, there is still many barriers that split up the human race. In the current United States of America, people are starting to speak up to make changes to society and bring everyone closer together.

Kassandra A.
Overall the video inspired me to take a look at society nowadays and see how much has changed since the day Martin gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. There have been many changes which include more equality for African americans but it can’t be said that his dream completely came true due to some places and people still dealing with racism and injustice because of the color of their skin. It inspires me to see a brighter future and hope that things will continue to get better. In hopes that racial discrimination will continue to decrease as the years go on. The speech itself can be seen as a motivation to join others in the fighting against these discriminations, although there isn’t legal segregation anymore, a division between races still exists. His words and the constant saying of “I Have a Dream” make it seem like he hopes and sees a better future which is very inspiring to other minorities, especially those who struggle with these issues on a daily basis.

James Baldwin affected his society in both positive and negative ways. He was seen as a prophet to some, and as someone filled with only nonsense to others. He inspired many, as well as challenged others. His ideas of love and acceptance was ironically not accepted by many. Most of the people believed in the power of violence- such as the Black Panthers. Some of his black community had problems with him and his ideologies, as well as most of the people in white communities.
